Fight before GSP!

It is looking like Matt Hughes will get his rematch with GSP! Personally, I would like to see Matt Hughes fight someone else before GSP! Before GSP could get his rematch with Matt, he had to go through Frank Trigg, Sean Sherk, and BJ Penn! In a way, I think it would be fair if Matt could face just one person before the GSP rematch! If you want Matt to face someone before GSP, who would it be and why?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Well the main reason is, Rich never beat Silva before, Matt has beaten GSP before, so a rubber match needs to be set. If Rich had beaten Silva in the past it would make sense. Also Rich didn't make it out of the first round. I think Rich himself would want a warm up match before he takes on Silva again. Say what you want about Matt, but he has clearly earned the right to have another shot at the title.

ive been thinking about this, and i think matt hughes will have to take on someone before gsp again, because gsp is supposed to fight matt serra.
anyways i think matt hughes will prolly end up fighting kyro paresian (sp) becuase he has said he wanted to fight him before.
or maybe some no-body, i doubt they will put him in the ring with diego, because that would cause the loss of one "top contender" no matter who won, and ufc prolly doesnt like that.

There's a difference. GSP wasn't the champion when he first lost to Hughes, which is why he wasn't initially granted a rematch. Thus, he had to work his way back up the ladder. It's the same thing that happened with Andrei when he lost the title to Sylvia; he got a rematch right away. It's like some sort of Champion's clause.

Hughes vs Karo will be AWESOME. The thing is they mathc up so well that Karo actually has a chance. Either way there will be some serious grappling

My Top 5

(0. Fedor)
1. Cro Cop
2. GSP
3. Mauricio RuA
4. Quinton Jackson
5. BJ Penn

Hughes deserves a rematch because every other champion get them rather quickly ESPECIAlly if that rematch is laso a rubber match then the rematch is deserved right away with maybe one fight inbetweem. Just like Couture just had to beat Van Arsdale to get his rematch at Chuck and Arlovski got a remtch with Sylvia right away. I like it best if theres one fight in betweem though.

Yes I agree, the champ should always get a re-match and Franklin should get his too even if him & Silva have only fought once, the (former champ) should always be first in line IMO

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

matt lost

Its sad that matt lost to GSP andpretty bad too. But what realy suprised me is i though if the fight ended quick it would go to matt and if i ended the last few rounds it would go to GSP. GSP has unbeilevable carto and a well rounded fighter matt is explosive and great take downs pretty well rounded, im hoping for a matt hughes v.s. GSP #3
