He should. Josh's stand up looks like it improved by leaps and bouds. His stance actually lookes like a that of a decent kickboxer. Its not only the footwork that one would take in consideration when evaluating Kos's standup. His jabs look good. He cirlces well. He actually looks like he can pick his spots in a stand up battle, and not be some defualt wrestler like many american fighters. Kos looks like he put good touch ups on everything he does. His game looks like it has tightened up by light years of what we seen in begging of TUF.
Diego, on the other hand, beat Karo. That should be enough said about where he stands in the rankings. However, Diego, like Matt Hughes, looks like he has only learned enough stand up to set up his shot and be a dominant wrestler and submission guy. GSP showed the audience what can happen to guys who do that to themselves. Diego is the number 1 contender in welterweight divsion, but he is that guys, because his strength is much better than his opponents.
That being said, Kos was a better wrestler when they fought last. With the improvements he made over what diego has done, I think Kos should be confident in what a match up of those two would bring.
