Josh Koscheck thinks he can beat Diego Sanchez easily!

I found this article on the UFC website! In this article, Koscheck says he has improved a lot since TUF 1. He said he came on TUF as a wrestler not knowing anything about fighting! He also went on to say that Diego should feel embarressed because he won a split decision to a guy who knew nothing but wrestling! Koscheck believes he improved a lot more then Diego and can beat him easily! So what do you think? Can Koscheck beat Diego Sanchez as easily as he claims? Or is he in for another trip to the hospital?

He should. Josh's stand up looks like it improved by leaps and bouds. His stance actually lookes like a that of a decent kickboxer. Its not only the footwork that one would take in consideration when evaluating Kos's standup. His jabs look good. He cirlces well. He actually looks like he can pick his spots in a stand up battle, and not be some defualt wrestler like many american fighters. Kos looks like he put good touch ups on everything he does. His game looks like it has tightened up by light years of what we seen in begging of TUF.

Diego, on the other hand, beat Karo. That should be enough said about where he stands in the rankings. However, Diego, like Matt Hughes, looks like he has only learned enough stand up to set up his shot and be a dominant wrestler and submission guy. GSP showed the audience what can happen to guys who do that to themselves. Diego is the number 1 contender in welterweight divsion, but he is that guys, because his strength is much better than his opponents.

That being said, Kos was a better wrestler when they fought last. With the improvements he made over what diego has done, I think Kos should be confident in what a match up of those two would bring.

I personally like both fighters but I think Diego will beat Kos

You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Favorite Fighters:

Chuck Liddell
Rich Franklin
Diego Sanchez

While Koscheck is improving at an amazing pace, he still won't beat Sanchez. Him saying he can easily beat him is laughably delusional, but I can see Koscheck beating him in about 2 years.

See, I really enjoyed their TUF 1 fight, and felt Diego scared the living crap out of Koscheck with his aggressive nature. I'm still trying to figure out how that was a split decision, because I felt Diego controlled the fight. I remember some judge scoring it 30-27 for Koscheck, which is absurd.

Bring on another fun fight.

Those are some bad choices.

One, Koscheck has improved more than Diego, but not a lot more. I mean the Koscheck on TUF was one dimensional yes, but look where he is at now, that's a VAST improvement. And Diego has gotten better as well.

Second, the second choice is a bit confusing. If people were to think "Koscheck can't beat Diego easily" you should have put that, but putting "Blanket" is just a complete disrespect to Koscheck and not accurate, so just bad choice of words there.

And no, I dont think Koscheck could "easily" defeat Diego but it is possible. Koscheck can get Diego down but Diego is a wiz on the mat, Koscheck isn't at Diegos level yet, and as far as striking goes I'd still give the edge to Diego but Koscheck is looking better that's for sure.

Koschek is a cocky bastard who won't ever make it to the Championship. That said, he is a great athlete. I think he could give Diego a fight but in the end, I think he'd get owned on the ground.
