KillerG has a little shameless behaviour in the past
When UFC was brought for 2 mill they STILL were makeing a loss, they just seen it as a future money maker, which it now is.

Imagine training for 8 to 12 weeks, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, to make $4,000!!!
A lot of fighters are also trainers and get paid for that as a more "regular" job. Also they usually make more than 4k and its the lure of makeing a million a fight if they are good enough.

In the end they get 4k to get beat up. If they win they get another match and get 8k etc till their on millions if their good enough. Why would you pay someone $100,000 to get beat up, hell id get in the ring for that. And they can fight up to 8+ times a year (the lower paid ones) so that can be around 30k easy, which for people who's only skill may be beating the crap out of people isnt bad for someone who's not even good at it.

The pay will go up in time. And the guys who are the most exciting are getting paid well. The guys that aren't, it's cuz they aren't exciting! Or it's cuz they are too new.

Look at GSP, you watch in the next two years his purses will double at least.

Hughes got big money, you all like Hughes. Liddell is well paid, Ortiz, etc. Monson got the short end of the stick but I didn't hear anybody talking about Monson being their favorite fighter or wanting to watch him fight 4 times a year. It's all about the draw.

Now if they paid someone you LOVE to watch crap, then that's a different story. But I don't see that happening really. Even my guy Nick Diaz got 24k on an undercard that wasn't shown. Fair enough to me.

As the venues get bigger (Pride has way bigger shows) and the UFC continues to grow, the pay will go up. In the meantime, if any of the fighters had a problem with how they get paid, you'd hear about it. And you don't. Not since Ortiz complained his ass off and went to go wrestle.
