It needs to be discussed..

It was lightly hinted at in the thread about fighter’s wages, but are internet video sites benefiting the UFC?

As of tonight more than 90,000 people have viewed the GSP vs. Hughes fight on Google Video.

Some argue that it's wrong and copyright infringement, while others claim it is great publicity for the sport.

So which is it? Do we want people to be exposed to MMA? And can we resist the temptations to not buy ppv's and just watch the cards online?

Right now.. only YOU can decide.

And I didn't see another thread specifically discussing this topic - but I apologize if it's a repeat.

its good for a growing sport like the UFC.

I still would pay to see it live or on PPV the night off.

It does affect sales, but so does showing it in bars illegally.

If the organization was losing milions a fight, this would be an issue .... but they are making millions even with this problem, so really ..... who cares.

Lets call it even for raping the athletes ... lol

See unfortunately for me I live in Australia and so I can't buy UFC PPV's. If I could, I would get every one since I am a huge fan of it but instead I have to d/load the fights off the internet in order to watch them

I dont think here in Canada it is considered copyright infringement as per the last court ruling by the supreme court. None the less, it can only provide exposure for a growing industy.

Internet fight videos are a great way to get new fans interested. Especially the Karo HL (his is mostly UFC footage).

The UFC is surging right now. Things are so good there is no reason to consider anything a threat. They are good advertising and the UFC isn't going to make any unpopular moves while it doesnt have to. Pulling the videos while profits are this high would piss alot of fans off.
