Is GSP in for a short title reign?

I know how this sounds but listen! Everytime a Militech fighter loses the title, the man who took it usually has a short title reign! They also lose it under weird circumstances!

*Carlos Newton beats Pat Militech! Newton's first title defense and he loses it in a very wierd fashion! He chokes out Matt Hughes while Newton gets knocked out! The UFC welterweight title was the only championship he has won in his entire fighting career!

*BJ Penn beats Matt Hughes and becomes the new welterweight Champion! Later, BJ is stripped of that Title because of contract disputes! Also, he loses a split decision over GSP! Then after he was dominating Hughes in thier second fight a freak accident occurs. BJ broke his own ribs trying to take Matt Hughes back! He got his a$$ kicked in the third round and lost!

*Frank Mir chrushes Tim Sylvia's dream of reclaiming his belt after it was stripped from him for steroid use! Later, Frank Mir gets in a seriously screwed up motorcycle accident and is forced to surrender the title! After this, he had two devastating loses and a contraverial win of Christianson! His career could now be over in the UFC!

In another thread I said this was some kind of curse! You may disagree with me but even you have to admit that this is some freaky pattern here! If thier is something to this curse, Is GSP in for a short reign? Possibly Anderson Silva considering many people believe Ace to be part time Militech? Your thoughts?

penn will beat gsp. i have no basis for it other than he gave gsp a run for his money during their first fight (and in fact won, imo), but i just want him to win already!

Just curious who you think Penn will have to beat in order to get a shot at GSP, or the belt in general?

Penn vs Diego?

i'd say diego. i don't even know if bj's still in the 'title contention' bracket now, but i imagine he isn't far off if he isn't, and i know diego's close to a title shot.

penn will pound diego into the ground, however.

I'm willing to bet Diego would be pretty pissed if he had to fight Penn before getting a title shot.

Once he goes through Joe Riggs on UFN I'm sure he'll be begging for a shot a la GSP. On his hands a knees even..

quite possible, but to bj's credit, gsp's victory over penn wasn't exactly a one-sided kind of win, and as much as i hate hearing excuses as to why fighters lose their matches, penn was legitimately injured during that hughes fight, and it was a substantial injury. so in that respect, i don't think it's unjust if penn gets another chance. he's not some can that has no credentials behind his name. i think it's lame how people dog penn with the whole 'running out of gas' bit considering he's gone the distance more than once. dude's just had a few instances of bad luck, imo.

yah I still think Penn needs to get a couple wins before being in contention again. His confidence must be pretty low after losing the last 2 fights since he came back. I would like to see Diego get a shot after serra and have BJ fight Karo, Fitch or even Diaz.

What are we talking about now? Oh yea the Militech curse yea I thought you were on to something the first time you mentioned this Bonnar, but I wonder how GSP could possibly lose his title right now. I don't wanna even think about something like a motorcycle accident or anything like that just how he could lose. He's got Serra next and I just cannot see Serra beating him or even lasting more than a minute or 2. And then who will he fight? Either Diego or Hughes right? Well I guess they both stand a good chance in beating him. I just don't see it being another example of the guy losing on or before his first title defense...since it will be Matt Serra. Who I hate BTW for all you new members I lost a bet to the threadstarter. It will be gone in about 3 weeks.

penn is out for possibly a year due to his ribs so if gsp loses it to him it won't be for a while. I don't think he will though he is just way to good. Maybe due to a freaky cut or something like how randy lost it to vitor though.
