I think Kongo needs to go with a Liddell strategy and only work TDD and some ground defense in his next camp. Who can stand with him? In a few years Cain will be a beast, but so will Lesner and Carwin. HW division is looking very good.
he still got dropped, though. i'd say him taking those shots were more a testament to his recovery time/ability rather than his chin strength. you think he could take those same shots from carwin or lesnar and get back up?

Silva and GSP, but i'll wait and see how does with his next opponent before i make any more judgments.

I think Lesnar would definitely (T)KO Cain too if he connected. he had amazing recovery in the Kongo fight, but everytime Kongo connected Cain got hurt, so his chin looks a little suspect at this point, IMO.
The point is Cain was rocked because Kongo connected with perfect shots because of his high striking skill level which neither lesnar nor Carwin have. They just have raw power and no technique.

The main goal is his game is that he is making newbie mistakes like rushing in and leaving himself exposed. He's made a mistake now but he young and has a fantastic training camp and they will tighten up the loose ends.

You generally do get rocked when someone lands bombs like those on you. Like I said he just needs time before he faces the cream of the crop and with that time he should be able to pose problems.

My main point is getting clocked with two steam pistons yet not getting KTFO doesnt make me think his chin is suspect. Infact it kind of reinforces the fact that he can take a hell of a shot and keep on pushing the pace which is exactly what he did.

Maybe im wrong and he wont learn to not leave himself open but i cant see someone who seems to be as intelligient as he is leaving one glaring weakness in his game for long.

His chin is a little bit suspect, but he showed a great ability to recover. He showed what he can do, but I think he is still a few fights away from being on a level he needs to be to dominate the top 10.

true, i feel they should build him up a bit before they just start throwing contenders his way, but it may be a little too late for that. they already gave him kongo, so he's already kinda in the deepend. but yeah, i'm sure he'll go back and work on covering some of holes and what not.

Cain has a good chin.

He took some serious power shots from Kongo and was still able to implement his game plan. Pretty much flawlessly.

I think Velasquez has a very bright future.

kongo had the stupidest game plan ever, to rock the opponent and then clinch so he could get out-wrestled

you can't take too much away from either fighter, yet it's blatantly obvious that both need serious work before being championship caliber contenders.

I think cain has a good chin since he was able to get a takedown mere seconds after being rocked twice, however he needs some serious standing defense before facing tougher competition, he needs more power on the ground, and submission skills, for the amount of time he had dominant position on the ground, and the fact that he was uncapable of finishing the fight is a slight detractor.

It also says that kongo is tough as nails, but seriously got exposed on the ground. imagine a competitors interpretation of that fight.

I'd like to see carwin vs. cain.

As I said the dude is new to MMA and will improve on these mistakes give him time to grow and we are going to have a real star on our hands. I know he isnt at a Carwin or Lesnar level yet but he will be soon and everyone is jumping ship on a guy who is no where near his prime yet.
i completely agree.

Kongo is a big strong dude and if you get hit with those punches anyone will go down. Cain is a talented wrestler but if it were Mir or Big Nog he would never stay on the ground for that long. Especially in that position.

Umm.. I thinking Cain's chin is quite good. Most people who got hit like that would be out cold not just dazed a little.

Very very solid chin.
