cain wouldnt stand a chance

against guys like shane carwin or lesnar. He has a very bad chin and he would never be able to control people on the ground as good as lesnar does anone agree

To be honest the whole time watching that fight, I couldn't help but think of what if Kongo was Lesnar, Mir, Couture, or Big Nog. If it were any of those guys, that know what to do on the ground, there is no way they would spend three rounds in that position without either subbing Cain or using actual wrestling skills to get out and do their own thing. Cain's obviously a good wrestler, but he doesn't have the power to go against the above people.

So overall, I wasn't impressed by Cain, I hated when Joe kept stating he had a good chin, he got rocked with damn near every punch, don't call that a good chin, call it a good recovery. It was a huge stepback for Kongo, which in the end is a good thing, that man needs to learn the ground game, it was like watching Houston Alexander all over again.

His chin is suspect, but Kongo's ground game has been evolving. It's no longer Huston Alexander esque, he can stand up if he needs to. Cain reminded me a lot of Fedor the way he controlled Kongo and just kept wearing at him (albeit without as mush power). I think Cain has a great shot at beating Carwin (his standup is more crisp and precise, dude's got really accurate punches even when he's getting hit), but I'm not sure that he'd dominate Lesnar, but I think he could take him to a decision or TKO him in the 4th-5th rounds.

I love how all the MMA newbs jump ship on fighters faster than rats on a sinking ship. HOW THE HELL IS HIS CHIN SUSPECT!?

Power/Force=Mass+Acceleration.

That being said Cheick is one of the BIGGEST and absolutely the most BUILT fighter with some of the BEST striking in the division.

Cain took SEVERAL Flush shots right on the chin from that brute and yeah it rocked him but shit id like to have seen anyone not be rocked by those shots.

to make it even better CAIN KEPT PUSHING FORWARDS. it may have rocked him but he was smart enough and game enough to take the fight away from Cheick WHILE rocked and completely tool his ass in every area that wasn't his own personal Prowess.

Cain's wrestling looked fantastic and has in all of his fights even against Jake O'Brien who is a phenominal wrestler. he is tenacious ferocious and nonstop with his takedowns and top control.

The same cannot be said of other wrestlers in the Divison. Brock only knows how to use his weight to lie on his opponents as of late. If a competent wrestler such as Randy is able to control Lesnar in the clinch, GET a few takedowns and even stuff some of Brock's take downs. Well then i personnaly I think Cain would more than hold his own on the ground with Brock.

That being said if Cain is smart enough to use head movements he would be able to avoid Brocks power because he has absolutely no striking technique. You people are being way mor than harsh on a dude who just stepped up to game competition and tooled it's ass.

People seem to forget CAIN IS A WRESTLER! I think we can forgive him for catching a few shots from arguably the mot technical and precise striker in the division.

I don't agree regards Cains chin. Its not his chin that's suspect, its his defence. Nobody can take those blows without being rocked. Better strikers with a better defence don't get hit like that too often. If Cain tightens up his defence, he will be hard to stop on the feet. This fight proved he can take some serious blows and recover very quickly = A solid chin.

The problem I see for Cain is that he got rocked in every round, and the fight was standing for less than 1 minute each round. So his striking defense is really poor. And like other mates here said, if he tries to take Lesnar or Couture down, he'll have a hard time doing so, and he loses the standing battle against either of those guys, and against Mir or Big Not, he'll get subbed if he spends 12 minutes on the ground withough finishing the fight.

I saw a fight that, despite the dominance of Cain, it could go the other way at any time that the fight was standing. And that's not what a "dominant" fight should look like.

Take a look at this man and tell me he is dwarfed by them. The dude is a freakin beast with like like maybe 1% Body fat. Ontop of that he is taller than both Lesnar and Carwin. Please explain how he is dwarfed by anyone other than Hong Man Choi?

They may be a slight bit bulkier than Kongo goinginto the fight but fact is NEITHER of them have the technique that Kongo does with his strikes either.

I jsut dont understand why your so willing to jump ship on him on something so damned trivial. There was nothing bad about his performance other than his rookie instinct to go in guns blazing. The dude has jsut begun his MMA career and it's like everyone expects him to beat Fedor tomorrow or something.

He is not ready for the big time but he is so young and has a tremendous future ahead of him. The dude is only going to get better and when he does he'll be more than able to tool Lesnar IMO.

this fight on the ground was alot like lesnar herring on the ground. i dont understand why these big powerful guys dont put their hooks in and go for the neck. there probably both strong enough to make guys tap without a proper choke.
