Guida v. Sherk Should Be Next.

Both guys are upper echelon fighters of the division, but falling.

Both have tremendous cardio.

It will be a great bout of heart v. raw strength.

Both guys are coming off losses that make their ranking questionable.

Both men have the same strengths, so this will force them both to change their gameplans and make their standup more precise.

Any thoughts?

I think this could potentialy make for an interesting match-up, I'm not really sure though as to who deserves the edge on the feet. Sherk maybe for technical striking but his stand-up game hasn't been overly effective throughout his last few bouts.

I actually think that Guida's stock rose from his last fight even though he lost, he could have easily won a very good fight.

Here is what I think should happen in LW

Winner of Penn vs Florian fights Diego
Loser fights Edgar
Maynard fights Sherk

That leaves me unsure of who Guida should fight though, maybe Stevenson? Both looked good in their fights and it would be a little bit of a wrestling brawl.

I don't see it going to the ground very often in this fight. And I think Sherk would outbox Guida. I think Sherk needs to get back to his GNP.

I want to see Sanchez vs. Guida, now that fight would be good. I think I'll go watch that now.

As far as Guida vs Sherk, Sherk would either be the stronger wrestler, or outstrike him(maybe, the difference between their striking isn't that big).

Ithink sherks striking is a couple of years ahead of guida, and sherks problem or one of them is his reach but against guida I think hed connect a lot more, id take Sherk to win this one. Lets face it guidas got skills but striking really isnt one of them, as we witnessed last night.
