DrewMcFedries vs. Alessio Sakara

There was a great fight at UFC 65 between Alessio Sakara and Drew McFedries. I believe McFedries was a last minute replacement to Wilson Gouvia. It was an awesome back and forth slugfest, but I noticed that Sakara either intentionally laid down on the mat. I was wondering if anyone had heard whether Sakara was injured after a punch and decided to lay down and tap, or if it was a defensive tactic that backfired on him?

He took a pretty hard shot and must have been seeing stars. After he went down he took four very hard body shots and then tapped out. Whether or not he went down because he was dizzy or because he wanted out, who knows?

McFedries came off as a bit of a cocky prick at the end of that fight, though. I'm not liking him already.

He had basicly punch himself out by the end of that fight. They showed a few replays afterwards, the uppercut landed squarely on the chin and Sakara was gassed... just a delayed KO. He went down, fell to guard, and knew he had nothing left in the tank. No injury.

I've watched this fight three times now, and it's obvious that Sakara blatantly laid down. I think he may have done it do avoid getting knocked out, because he took a nice uppercut earlier that seemed to hurt him a bit. But ****, he paid for it.

McFedries didn't seem overly cocky to me, just happy as hell that he won, and he seems like he's ready to throw with anyone in the UFC. Looking forward to seeing more of him.
