If Chuck tried to standup with Ali, Chuck would get destroyed.

I saw a similar thread about Klitchko vs Fedor

I saw another thread not long ago about a BEAR vs ufc fighters

Lets make this clear:

Any professional BOXER would win their boxing match with a ufc, pride, k1 fighter.

Klitchko, Ali, Jones Jr, and theres a dozen more I can name would wipe the WALLS with any mma fighter. It's what they do! ALL THEY DO IS WORK ON THEIR STRIKING, and not just striking, but just with their HANDS.

Now if their fighting in the CAGE, thats different.

Put Klitchko in the cage with Fedor and Fedor would PWN.

But Fedor in the ring in a boxing match, not even a punchers chance in HELL that Fedor would escape the 1st round

Dumb thread (and I dont say that often)

I don't see Chuck winning an MMA fight with Ali either because I see Chuck as someone who would loves to bang.
I also thought I'd agree with this post

Ali in his PRIME or at least before he got MS, would most likely PWN the ufc (at least the strikers)

Judging by the interesting debate we have going here I'm inclined to disagree with your assesment. (and I don't say that often)

Some interesting points made about Ali's cardio-endurance. He was also no doubt one of the purest athletes to ever live. I wonder what Chuck would have to say?

But you gotta remember, Sonny Liston and them couldn't hit as hard as Chuck Liddell, and didn't have his cardio. Ali could run around all he wanted but in a 45 minute fight there isn't a way in hell Chuck wouldn't get ahold of him.

Couldn't hit as hard as Chuck? You're kidding me right? have you ever watched any of Foreman's early fights?

What!? Couldn't hit as hard as Chuck? If you give Frazier, Foreman, or Liston 4oz gloves the other guy is going to need to get his jaw rewired after the fight, literally. Chuck does not have anywhere near the power those guys had. ]

And Ali wouldn't run from Chuck he could stand in place and still not get hit, I don't think he would let Chuck get any kicks off either. As long as Ali learned some basic ground defense he would destroy Chuck.

You hit it right on the head. Those are fighter quialites needed to compete in the MMA or Pro boxing arena.

While rules, boxing or mma, give an obvious advantage to both fighters their relevance has no place when the above mentioned qualities have been thoroughly examined and properly addressed in efforts to compare combat sport atheletes who fight under vastly different rules.

Ebc_Kyle....

On what do you base your assesment of Liddell hitting harder than Sonny Liston and "all of them"? And give the names of "all of them" please?
