anderson silva - no class

anyone agree that the taunting and dropping his hands down was way out of line? i mean from what i can tell griffin showed him nothing but love and respect before the fight and even though silva is clearly on another level than forrest i think his antics were pretty disrespectful

this isn't competitive knitting. I don't really care if they are on each other's x-mas card list or that their children play together.
All this talk of "respect" is so much BS!!!
I only care that they kick each other's !@#$

First of all, I thought for a moment this board of all would be the one to avoid this thread... (sigh) well done sir.

Fact is, even if you thought Anderson was disrespectful, which I don't by the way... you have only yourself to blame, you and everyone else who got all over the man for his last two performances. People called him boring and standoffish, and unfortunately the "peoples champion" Forrest Griffin, paid the ultimate price. The fans demanded a show from the P4P king, he delivered. Get over it!

Go to UFC.com and watch Anderson's post fight interview. You will understand that Anderson is one of the most respectful fighters in the business. Him dropping his hands and moving like that is nothing new, he did that in the Franklin fights as well. You've got to admit, when you have reflexes like that, that it's not a bad idea to do that to bait your opponent. Unfortunetly it didn't work against Leites because Leites had no intent on actually fighting.

hey we all love Griffin and it sucked to watch him lose. It wasn't disrespectful to Forrest's character or person, but it was disrespecting his striking and you can't really fault Silva for that, there wasn't much to respect.

Well said.

By the way, Silva putting his hands down and exposing his chin wasn't merely show boating, it was a bait.

Forrest started chasing after a mirage and after two swings exposed himself to the counter-punch. That final jab happened because Forrest was suckered in.

So to the thread starter, go watch the fight again.

As sad as I am to see Forrest humiliated like that, I don't think it was out of line. During his post fight with Joe he had nothing but praise for Forrest.

On top of it making himself look awesome, in the back of Anderson's mind, he was likely doing it a bit for Roy Jones jr, who was in the crowd watching. And it was extremely impressive.
