Can't think of it at the moment, but has there ever been a fighter given a third title shot (especially after losing the first two?)

I know BJ Penn himself has had quite a lot. Randy Couture may have.

Probably a few, not many though. It's not like it is a rule though. If Kenny gets himself as the number 1 contender again we will see it happen again I would say.

exactly what judoka said. as long as you do the work, you can get multiple title shots. of course there is always a marketing aspect, too.

Swell dude...but TUF is one thing...being a true martial artist is another. All TUF fighters have been decimated one by one. Each at this point is the rightful ruler from

155 - BJ Penn - Master BJJ, but loves to strike
170 - GSP - Kyukushin Karate background, most well rounded fighter in MMA.
185 - The Spider - Muay Thai/BJJ. Has gone up a level and is able to see everything in "binary code" or in slow motion.
205 - The Dragon - Shotokan Karate (aka Machida Karate) - If anyone can do the dim mak it would probably be him.
225 - This is the only division where I have reservations.

Four out of five weight classes are occupied by true martial artists who have been training since adolescents.
