The rest of the conversation was him saying he wont fight Lyoto because he is his brother and training partner.

That's one of those silly internet lies that spreads like wildfire.

Everybody knows the quote but noone seems to know the article and its context.

The lie varies from Silva saying "Machida gets the best of me in training" to "Machida would beat me".

That's the last bread of comfort that guys who aren't particularly fans of Anderson are cramming on. The last most fashionable rallying point was "Silva is boring", which even included Matt Hughes and Wanderlei, then the nonsense expired on Saturday.

Now what follows is this Machida nonsense.

If Anderson comes in like he did against Forrest then he is gettin caught and throwing at a target that wont end up being where the punch or kick was sent.....

Anderson's style is perfect for Lyoto to handle....

Not nut hugging...just the way it is.....IMO

I say Machida by a pointfest. Both would try and sit back until they were forced to engage. Whoever did, would end up eating a shot or two.

ahhh, I hate deciding this fight.

I'd be willing to bet he would connect. But then again, we don't know, and we'll never know.

Anderson's style is perfect to beat Machida. He's the best striker in MMA.

I'd say it goes either way. Silva has the athleticism and the speed but Lyoto has the technique and the karate technique. Prediction: ends up on the ground with Silva winning via submission. There is no way in hell these guys could even punch each other, they are counter-punch/kickers.

i agree I think anderson has the speed and pin point striking to get to the point, before machida moves the point.

this fight would be the greatest fight ever, no fight would ever top it...what a chess match.

Its the unstopable force against the moveable object. lol

mmafreyk18 Needs A Hug
Wasn't it on the post fight conference where silva said machida could beat him? anyway im sure he was being humble, andersons super humble.. outside the cage heheh..inside he'll humiliate you. neway theres no way to know who would win both are excellent counter fighters, the best ive seen in mma. it would also be amazing becuz theyd have to up their game because they already know so much about each other from sparring. im just curious who the agressor would be, prolly silva cuz he usually pushes it when the other doesnt. i have him winning cuz of his awesome reflexes. of course he wont risk his hands down with machida for sure. doubt anyone can hit him except maybe like a boxer. roy jones....

I see this being an uneventful sparring match until Machida hits Silva a little too hard and pisses him off. Hurricane of limbs ripping the flesh from Machida's skull for the win.

You know i would have gone with machida... But then i started to look at all the fights again and i think that it would be Silva by TKO. I think that a lot of this fight would be a glorified striking fight between the two but I have seen Machida look like he is tired in some of his fights as well as he does not seem to have the knock out power that Silva has proven he has. I think there would be lots of counter strikes between the two but i think that the second Machida got a little too open with a strike that he thinks he is countering, until anderson pulls out a crazy strike that few people would ever think had the power to KO someone but turns out that he has such precise strikes that it hits the chin or rib or leg and breaks something.

Silva by TKO with the not out of the question chance of Machida by submission.
