I find it odd people say he cant finish fights when he finished bj penn in january. he didn finish Fitch or Alves but he finished Hughes to get a title shot finished the champ Serra then didn finish Fitch did finish Penn and didn finish his last fight so he actually finished 3 of his last 5

HW-Brock Lesnar
LHW-Forrest Griffin, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans & Gegard Mousasi
MW-Chael Sonnen
WW-All hail GSP
LW-Frankie Edgar

BJ Penn's crew finished the fight, not GSP. If it was up to BJ Penn, it would have gone to decision.

GSP hasn't finished a fight since Serra II.

I personally find GSP to be a very exciting fighter.

The man is constantly pushing a hard pace, always advacing postions, he does a large amount of damage(look at the fighter's faces when he's done with them), he's always mixing it up well.

Besides, people talk about him not being able to finish fights? Technically, he finished Penn, as Penn was too beat down to come out to the 5th round. It just so happens that Penn has a lot of heart and was willing to keep going even while being beaten so badly.

yea I thought the fight was exciting.. but that was not all that was edited.. the Stuff at the end of the Mir Lesnar fight was edited out as well.. it was nice to see some of the other fights though..

And every fighter has their share of boring fights.. even anderson silva.

Don't get me wrong it's not a knock on GSP. I love watching the guy fight, but his style doesn't really attract the casual fan that wants to see every fight end in somebody getting knocked out. This whole free viewing thing was to attract/recruit the casual fan. They pumped the show full of fights that got finished and that was a smart move.

The dedicated fans watched the GSP-Alves fight live, but may not have seen some of the more exciting prelims. And the casual fan would've watched 5 rounds of Georges smothering Alves and just gone "meh". So it was a win/win by replacing the GSP fight with more exciting prelims and satisfied as many fans as humanly possible.

Of course, you just can't please everybody.

yes the bonnar/coleman fight was only 3 rounds, but they could have shown the danzig/miller fight that was 10 times more exciting than the coleman fight. hell they should have squeezed the CB lawlor fight in there!!!

as for the GSP fight i thought it was an exciting fight. no he didnt finish it but it was far from boring. some good strikes, great takedowns, and constantly trying to improve his position made it an exciting fight to me. far from a lnp win in my book.

as far as him not finishing fights, take a look at the guys he has gone to a decision against and see how many times they have been finished in their careers.

Yeah, the guy finished 3/5, and likely would have finished Thiago if not for the groin injury. Watch a GSP fight right now, and tell explain to me how he doesn't try to finish. He throws BOMBS in his GnP, he's just been facing guys with mutant chins.

Just because he gets guys afraid of the takedown, then outstrikes them, doesn't make him very boring to me, it makes him the most dynamic fighter in the UFC, hence clearing out the WW class with the exception of a few. And you can definitely make the argument that he has faced tougher competition than Silva.

He is one of the few fighters who I actually see go for the kill when a round is coming to an end, I'm just sayin.
