I'm sorry -- is Houston Alexander a top LHW? Yet he somehow obliterated Jardine. Also, Wandy, who has lost what -- six of seven fights -- did the same.
Keith does well against counterpunchers but not walk-forward types.
I'm not knocking Jardine -- i think he's a good fighter. But Silva is the worst possible matchup for him. I'll win money on that.
I'm also not convinced Randy can win standup against Nog anymore. Nog still has the better chin and his boxing is better than he gets credit for.

I have Couture winning easily, i think he'll win on the feet, but if not he still has the advantage on the ground. Yes the ground his BJJ defence is top knotch, and so is his wrestling.
I hope Nog wins though, just dont see it.
Jardine's beat Vera,Griffin,and Chuck.
Thiago has not. Jardine should be favored.

How do you throw out a 10k credit bet against a guy with only 5k credits?

Yeah, I think the matchups are good, but the odds makers got it right. Silva is very weak in the striking dept. If he doesn't get it to the ground, Jardine will KO him. The Randy of yesterday is definitely better than Nog. The question is, when will his age start to affect him? Randy's style is a good one for an aging fighter. Nog's only chance is that Randy losses some steps.
That said, I don't think wins on the other sides would be major upsets. Silva is a tough dude and Randy's getting up there.

TS, I agree at first glance that those odds are a little eye popping but having time to try and get in the odds makers heads I agree with the odds as they are, heres why:
1. Nog has something to prove. He is not the same Nog of Pride days and after the 2d shot landed flush with Nogs head straight up and center, Frank prolly didn't even need to look for the target on the rest of them...his head was going to be there.
2. The fact that Couture got mauled by Lesnar means nothing for this fight. It doesn't mean Randy's age was showing, nothing. Brock can kill most things in the animal kingdom with his bare hands.
3. Nog had trouble with Herring.
4. Couture is proven against bigger taller opponents.
Couture should be favored.
Jardine. If you disagree with him being favored well, you are entitled to your opinion and Im not gonna call you stupid for having it. But I strongly disagree.....strongly.
Jardine is going to finish this fight early, T. Silva doesn't even look in shape IMO.

Your rightIMO but I think Randy will outwork and out muscle nog and yes Nog is a good boxer even though he was seriously off his game in the Mir fight. I got Randy (he never gets submitted) to beat Nog and Thiago over Jardine by KO.

Couture absolutely should be the favorite, he hasnt been submitted in 7 years (And that was to world BJJ and ADCC champion Ricco Rodriguez when Ricco was still a monster, IE the guy who owned Nog) and submissions are the only advantage Nog really has, Randy will dirty box, clinch and Take Nog down even if (and that is a big if after the Mir fight) Randy is unable to finish Nog he should have little trouble taking a definitive decision victory.
As for Silva/Jardine styles do make fights but Jardine looked very impressive in his losing effort to Rampage while Thiago looked like he didnt belong fighting the top guys against Machida. Also you have to consider that betting odds dont only reflect who they belive will win but also reflect betting trends or expected trends to assure the betting company doesnt lose money. Trends is why you sometimes see odds adjusted and if you remember Ricardo Almedia vs Patrick Cote they actually changed altogether from Cote being the favorite to Almedia.

thiago silva isn't that good of a fighter, at all, jardine will smash him....thiago is a way overrated fighter, think about it.
randy will beat the shit out of nog in the stand-up, how will nog wrestle randy to the ground, its not happening.
u will lose money....the odds are were they shoud be.
even if randy and jardine weren't the more skilled fighters, they would still be favored becuase the majority of casual fans/bettors root for captain america and know jardine from tuf.
you wanta win money on this event, the best bet you can make is nate marquart -145 to beat maia, easiest money you will ever see...i have $1600 on it....they have too many question marks in some of the other fights.
