For those of you who bet on UFC...have you looked at the UFC 102 odds (that link shows them)? That's just one book but they're pretty much the same everywhere I look.

Can some explain to me how...

1) Randy Couture is favored to beat Big Nog
2) Keith Jardine is favored over Thiago Silva.

WTF? Big Nog is 13 years younger than Randy, better on the ground, has weathered the storm to beat much bigger/stronger guys.

Even crazier is Jardine being the favorite. What type of fighters destroy Keith? Aggressive strikers who walk forward and throw bombs. Who knocked out Jardine in round 1? Wandy and Houston Alexander. Silva has one loss and it was to Machida. How is he not favored?

I guess I shouldn't complain, as I'm gonna win me some money on Big Nog and Thiago.

I'd say style wise Randy is favored over Nog.


Besides the odds are not made on how could win but on how many people are going to bet on each fighter.


Couture and Jardine are a lot more famous than their opponents so naturally a lot more people will bet on them which affects the odds.

Randy looked better against Lesnar than Nog did against Mir. My guess is a lot of odds makers believe that Nog is done. May not be true, but they also change the odds to reflect the betting.

Randy is a bad match-up for Nog, he can keep it standing and outstrike/outclinch him for 3 rounds.

Now Jardine/Thiago Silva I'd agree, it could go either way... Although with Jardine's W-Ls pattern, I'm not sure if I want to bet against him lol

Nog is past his time and we all no randy seems to get better with age.....

Silva was never that established as a fighter and now will be facing a guy in Jardine that is no easy push over and can handle getting the shit kicked out of him and still squeeze out a decision.....

I expect both of these things to happen and Randy and Jardine to win......


Funny, people debate Jardine Silva and to think that people were picking Silva to beat Machida is hillarious......

1) Nog looked terrible in his last fight, thus Randy being favourite.

2) Jardine is favourite as he has been fighting the top LHW's for ages - his last 4 fights have been q.jackson, vera, w.silva and liddel where he has gone 2-2, also fought forrest and bonnar in his ufc career, whereas the only top LHW Silva has fought is Machida who he lost to.

I agree with the bookies and have Randy and Jardine both winning decisions.

I still think that if Nogueira shows up in a good shape, he'll win, but his UFC matches tell me otherwise. Nogueira's students at the Black House already conquered 2 UFC divisions and Dos Santos does a good job at heavyweight, it's time for the master to prove something. Hopefully, he'll beat Randy. Now, Thiago Silva is a favorite in my eyes.
