He is not getting a raw deal in my book. This will only be his third fight, but when he beat Koscheck, he earned the shot to fight other top tier fighters, even though he probably is not ready.I think he is gonna get mauled in this fight, but there is no way Dana will cut this guy because of his fight schedule. The win against Kos was not a fluke, but it was an upset. He had Fitch in a nice guillotine, but everybody knows Fitch is tough as nails, and a work class wrestler and cardio freak, and he was basically able to outwork him.The only prayer Paulo has in this one is to somehow get the fight to the ground and hope he can pull a sub, or stiff jab as the pitbull is coming in; not likely because Alves is not as wild with his stikes as Kos is.Alves by assault and battery in the first.

This isn't the way to progress fighters of the future.

John Fitch demonstrated that Paulo isn't ready for the top guys yet, he got a good win over Kos but would get beat by him most of time time. Now he gets thrown in with the pitbull, I just think rather than sacrafice potential top 10s of the future for the sake of giving Alves the chance to bounce back they should give Alves a more seasoned fighter and let Paulo fight a few build up fights before fighting another top 5.

Its hard to say right now but Paulo could have a good future, being a lamb to the slaughter against Alves who has fought 22 times, 12 times in the UFC and just had a title shot is doing him no favours.

Seriously, get beat by Fitch and then fight Alves? Can't get more tough than that at welterweight unless they let GSP smash his face for 5 rounds.

I agree.

Dana White immediately through Paulo Thiago in to the deep end, against Josh Koscheck.

However, what Dana did not expect, was that Paulo would actually beat Koscheck, ultimately earning him a fight with Jon Fitch.

Even though Paulo Thiago won his fight with Koscheck, I do not think Dana should have arranged the fight with Koscheck at all. He should have slowly built up Paulo Thiago, then throw him in with the big boys.

But I think a match with a Welterweight lower down the food chain would have been more suitable.

I am also giving this fight to Thiago Alves, by (T)KO.
