Maybe we can put GSP in there against Shane Carwin...just to prove GSP isn't p4p #1. How about Brian Bowles verses Thiago Alves.

I think it's funny that people are now resulting to completely one sided match-ups just because they want Anderson Silva to lose cause the only man to dethrone Silva (in a fair cut/weight limit) is his training partner and best friend. So, what's the next logical step? Gigantic heavyweights! Haha, grow some backbone dude.

It's like "Let's put him up against Nikolai Valuev just so everyone will shut up about the guy111!!!11" Pathetic.
LOL I don't care. I still want to see A.Silva get beaten down by a low tier HW like Kongo. A.Silva actually weighs 220-215 so its that much of a stretch. It won't matter though. Kongo by nut crushing knees.

Cheick is a match made in heaven for A Silva.

He's not a Jitsu guy, he can't wrestle worth a lick and he's nowhere close to Silva in speed and strike technique.

Love both fighters but only Lyoto Machida comes anywhere close to A Silva standing -- no matter the weight class.

The rest better learn to wrestle or improve their BJJ or they'll look as stupid as Forrest did...no matter the size.

I agree with this post 100%. Him moving up to HW makes no sense, and if he's not going to be P4P b/c he can't beat someone 50+ lbs. outside his natural weight class, well then, why bother having a P4P discussion.

Personally, I would like to see Torres / Bowles or Mike Brown / Faber fight Anderson Silva then. 135 to 185 is the same as 185 to 235 [Kongo].

Dude, you're the one who flips out at every A Silva fan, not me. There's more of an obsession to see A Silva get beat up on your part than there's an obsession to see him win on his fans' part.

The real question is, what the heck is wrong with you, not what's wrong with everyone else.

I suspect you've been betting against him and he's been responsible for many an eviction in your life, and that's why you loath him.

Seriously, though, dude, lighten up...we follow this for fun, not to make enemies with people we'll never meet.

I'm asking whats wrong with you guys because you think he can take on powerhouses like Brock, Carwin and Kongo. Just because he beat Forrest doesn't mean he can go up in HW and KO everyone there. I actually hope it happens but Dana maybe would want to protect the '# 1 P4P fighter'.

Actually, I bet all my chits on Anderson in his last fight and he won me $260 bucks on the Henderson fight a year ago. I just don't like you guys overrating him as if he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

MMA is a what have you done for me lately sport, of course people will argue and make enemies/get banned. It happens on every MMA forum.

(BTW A.Silva is one of my favorite fighters next to Lyoto/Nate Diaz but I'm to stick to reality and not say he can beat the HW Champion)

My friend, he's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, that would be sliced bread with ham, cheese and mustard in between.

Yes there's a possibility of overrating A Silva...as there was with a lot of people, you included, overrating Forrest Griffin's chances. There's also a possibility of overrating the worth of weight and power against technique.

Silva's nowhere, IMO, close to Forrest Griffin in strength yet strength was absolutely irrelevant in their fight (and Forrest, unlike Kongo, can actually grapple). Kongo is instinctively a striker who'll only follow you to the ground if he dropped you (which is unlikely against the faster and more elusive A. Silva).

Think of a wild puncher like Wanderlei against Cro-cop but in reverse. Silva would tool Cheick...I'd dare say even Rampage would.

You know, if Kongo is in trouble (doubtful) he can always lift Anderson up and slam him to the ground... Of course he'll be working his vicious GnP and Kongo has never been subbed btw.

Cheick Kongo=\/=Forrest Griffin. Forrest didn't have the ability to KO/TKO many people, Kongo does. He has been in many kickboxing bouts (40-50?) and is a way better striker than Forrest. He won't fold to a punch as easy as Forrest did.

A fight like this doesn't always have to end in a standing KO.

Why does Silva need to fight at the HW division at all? Isn't it enough that he's the MW champion and a top 5 LHW?
