Right on! You gaged him spot on.

I remember this breed of fan saying "well, IMHO, I see Forrest being too strong for Silva to handle."

There's a litter of human carcasses that was meant to do this or that to the Spider. The wishful speculations continue.

huh I thought silva was just going to abandon the title and make a run for the LW title and finish his contract there and the winner of the hendo fight would be champ.

but this will make for some great fights though.

I hate interim titles.

Fedor, Mir, Lytle, Serra, Hendo, Chuck, Minowaman, Maynard, Forrest, Hunt
Pickett, Cerrone, Matt Brown, Bisping, Weidman, Barnett, Lawler

agreed. its saying, well... you can be the pretend champion for now... because the real champion is somewhere else... but when he comes back... he has the real belt... sooo... you have to fight him to be champion...even though you have been the "champion" for a few fights now.

The only trouble is that he wont fight for the LHW title while Machida has the belt, either that or the pair of them are angling for a HUGE cash incentive to take the fight.

My big issue with this is that the longer Anderson stays out of the MW division, the more LHW (and if rumors are to be believed, HW) contenders he is knocking off.

Unless they have an assurance that he will fight Lyoto, they shouldn't be letting him near any LHW's going to wreck the division

That's if Machida's still got the belt when Anderson gets himself into Title contention. There's still every chance that either Shogun or the winner of Rashad-Rampage could take the belt from him. Sure he's looked ridiculously awesome, but everyone's beatable.

Personally, this is the way I'd like to see Silva going. I just don't see anyone in the MW division getting near him atm, and I'd definitely go the way of an Interim belt, with Silva moving up to LHW. There are so many more big money fights for him at that weight class, and fights I'd love to see. Say Machida still has the belt by the time Silva's had another LHW fight and got himself into contention, then I would love to see the UFC throw money at them to see them 2 go at it. Would be an epic fight.

Maia getting beat worse Forrest...hahahhahaha
But this ptting championship on "layaway" is bullchips. He isnot bigger than the UFC,maybe GSP would like to put his on layaway too and take an around the world cruise.
If he wants to move up then move up,its not like he could not get a title shot by snapping his fingers,he is only leasing the title, albeit maybe till death.

This could very well be a plot for him to vacate it. Once ufc gets a pretend champ. He'll vacate the belt , fight lhw for 3 fights , then bail for Rjj. After his fight with Rjj , he'll come back. He wont be champ then , but since he was the "real champ" he gets first crack at the belt, as first contendor. Either it be Maia, Hendo , or Nate , he'll whomp stomp whichever person has the belt.

Don't mind seeing this if it means Silva fighting any of the top Heavyweights. The UFC should agree as long as he extends his contract.

Yeah, he's awesome and yeah the fight already happened... but he's not more important than the division or sport. Vacate the title if you don't want to fight for it, homie.

Wouldn't mind this mini tourny really... just turned off by the way silva's camp acts lately. His job is to fight... not make wild demands/suggestions to the organization in the public forum.
I think you are overacting a bit, its nice to see soares and anderson try to take control out of ufc brass's hands..Its the least they can do..A fighter of his status should be getting more money than he is getting regardless of whether he is a draw or not.. 10 fight win streak (most of which bein highlight reels) speaks for it self..And he already beat hendo handily, if he doesnt feel hendo deserves a rematch just yet that is his prerogative..Going to a decision with palhares/franklin (a guy AS obliterated 2x mind u) and KOing bisbing arent really the sort Ws that going to sawy minds about the outcome of another encounter with silva..It sure hasnt changed mine..

To Live is 2 suffer, 2 survive? well that is 2 find meaning in the suffering
