Silva's camp want the UFC to create an interim middleweight title

I've seen this one comming for a while, according to this interview, Silva's must be looking at the higher weight divisions for some big money fights for Anderson before he drops back down...makes sense, this way he's not bouncing around weight classes for each fight.

Quote:
“Dana and the UFC are going to do what they think is right but I think the winner of Nate Marquardt and Demian Maia should fight Dan Henderson for the number one contender. I mean I even think it would be interesting to see the winner of Demian Maia/Nate Marquardt fight Dan Henderson for the interim title and then whoever wins the interim title fights Anderson for the title.”

I think is actually the most fun scenario possible.

Although Maia/Marq/Hendo(2) would all be fun fights, I think building one of them up a bit more would make for a much more exciting and well hyped fight.

YES!!!!!! i see maia as beating hendo with submit (quite cliche) and winning the interim...... then he beats silva on the ground and makes him tap out....... just my personal opinion on how its gonna go

Is that really how you see it going, or just what you really, really want to happen?

That is kind of impossible I mean I have seen a lot of people get destroyed but Forrest looked like he wasn't even a pro fighter. My guess is he doesn't act like a ***** like leites did and actually keeps trying to shoot in on silva until he eventually gets destroyed coming in.

maia would be the best fight for silva, as he poses many problems on the ground. the problem is i dont think he can beat marquardt or hendo. both of those guys are more than capable of keeping the fight standing and KOing maia, especially hendo.

they should throw okami in against hendo and have a little 4 man tourny.

<--- the punch that started it all!

My current favirote fighters
Anderson Silva
Junior Dos Santos
Mauricio Rua
Alistair Overeem
Jon Jones

WAR dan hardy, paul daley, ross pearson and terry etim doing it for the britz!

sorta turned off by Silva's camp demanding/suggesting this and that lately. While i don't boil it down to 'ducking' him, seems like Silva really does not want to fight Hendo again and frankly... that's annoying to me a bit. Yeah, he's awesome and yeah the fight already happened... but he's not more important than the division or sport. Vacate the title if you don't want to fight for it, homie.

Wouldn't mind this mini tourny really... just turned off by the way silva's camp acts lately. His job is to fight... not make wild demands/suggestions to the organization in the public forum.

i think this is just so if machida loses somehow, silva has the chance to hold 2 belts at once, but if machida stays as champ and silva doesnt fight him, he will still be a champion at another weight.
