Gray Maynard: "Huerta...this guy is dangerous"

New Gray Maynard interview.

On his upcoming clash with Huerta...

Quote:
"You never know, so you can't assume he's going to be out of shape or that he's going to come out trying to impress and be overly aggressive. You just can't tell, so you gotta prepare. It's like he's going to be on point, he's going to be ready and on top of his game. That's the Roger Huerta that I'm preparing for. I'm preparing for him like he just fought for the belt. This guy is dangerous, so if I have to pretend it's a belt on the line or whatever it is, you just have to get hyped up because anything can happen."

"He's been all over. He's had a couple where he was on top; he's had a couple where he was on bottom and standing. Just wherever it goes, I'm alright. I feel good. I train a lot so wherever it goes, I will be alright."

"It's only 3 rounds, so you can't really slow people down. You just kinda have to go and move a lot. If it was a 5-round fight, I can say I'm going to slow him down in the early rounds; that's different. It's only 3 rounds. If it was a championship fight, I could go to the body for a round then come upstairs and then dada dada da! People gotta understand 3 rounds is not a very long time. Two good guys going at it and people want to see KO's and this and that, but it's tough to do in 3."

I love Gray May, I see him taking this by decision -- If Huertaès strinking get too overwhelming (possible) he will probably have little to no trouble taking the fight to the mat.

I see the Bully taking this via GnP TKO late in the 2nd.

Speaking of the nickname the Bully, I know they are separate weight classes but Gray is big LW; any chance he moves up just to beat down Mayhem.

this should be an interesting card, especially with Diaz v. Guillard.

Interesting Gray says this....I wonder his feeling towards Nate and Melvin. Considering the fact Huerta's only "loss" was to Melvin (who pretty much whooped Roger like Ali did Foreman). I'd like to see Gray v. Diaz

haha I had to think about it, but Gray could probably take him lol I think Gray has anyone in that division (LW)besides BJ for right now.

I like Gray Maynard he is a very solid fighter.
I hope the guy punches Huertas lights out and then sends him to his new movie career in shame.

I'm building a boat right now so when Huerta wins, I won't drown in this forum's collective tears.

Why do people still hate Huerta? The guy was offered a chance to make some money without putting his life on the line. Can you really blame him? Rampage is doing the same thing. It's a cool opportunity.

Roger would have fought ages ago if the UFC wasn't so dead set on destroying him for his "disloyalty".

Huerta is one of my favorite fighters to watch. When he loses to Gray's wrestling, I won't think any less of him at all.
