I think someone needs to tell Floyd that Money, fame and showboating are secondary in combat sports. The main impetus is the fight itself and Floyd doesnt deliver!
This guy likes to shell up and backpedal throwing boring jab counter punches.
Combat sports should be primarily about the fight, if people put aside the star power and marketing of the Floyd vs De la hoya fight which was stupidly overhyped and knew how the fight was going to pan out then I dont think it would of set ppv records.

For me Floyd makes Thales leites look exciting.
There are many other boxers who are exciting and come to display the sweet science but are not marketing drones. Most of Floyds fight highlights are the pre bout talk and him running his mouth but not much of the actual fight.

I wonder how many people feel robbed when they bought into his hype and paid for the ppv.

Definitely agree that Mayweather is an MMA fan. Nothing wrong with him hyping his fight and I agree, Ace is not a very good boxer. Vitor on the other hand... I'd definitely like to know what Mayweather thinks of him. Vitor vs Mayweather in the cage would be a slaughterfest, imo.

I hope we see Prime Crocop come out, like he said he was going to. Following Nog's example would be nice.

lmao @ the comment about Rich Franklin's hands.

bigups to money mayweather!

and smh @ people who hate on floyd's ''hit & not get hit'' boxing style. you wanna see people swinging around guaranteeing a KO or something like idiots?

''You probably thought this was a bright idea, who hit the light switch? Hype shift, this is where it looks like the fight's fixed, tight fist, beat you with the hand that I write with, punchlines that remind Rodney King of the night sticks...''

Disclaimer: I like this card..not my favorite but anticipating to see how some guys do in their returns.

I dont understand Dana/joe silvas logic on this one. Three of his top fights are "newcomers/returners" to the UFC...belfort,trigg,crocop. Although crocop returned 3 months ago..he's still relatively new to your casual fans and that al/turk fight was meh.

Vitor is exciting but never had a fedor status in another organization. I like trigg but his biggest claims to fame are losing twice to hughes. Dos santos may be a top contender within next few fights but no one knows who he is generally.
Actually, I think dana knows boxing will outsell them..hence why there is no title shot..not even a fight for #1 contendership. Was swick/kampann i guess but that got canned due to injury. End of the day, the card has decent fights with decent names but if it doesnt sell its not like UFC lost some "blockbuster fights" they couldve saved for another card.

Boxing will outsell because their fans are starved and get a good fight once in a blue moon so yea they're goin to come out the woodworks. If UFC came out 3 times a year and this card had Brock Vs Shane, Machida Vs Shogun, Silva VS Marquardt, Rashad VS, Rampage, and Penn Vs Sanchez ..it would clearly shit on boxing

fact is most UFC fighters are horrible when it comes to pure boxing skill. Aside from BJ and Anderson most everyone throws pretty bad punches, and that's all the boxing fans see, they don't see the skill it takes to be good at everything else in mma. We've seen time and time again what happens when a fighter focuses on one skill area and neglects all of the others. Mayweather versus pretty much anyone but the top HW's and Silva would be a win for mayweather in a boxing match, anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand how good he is.
