As you can see BJ is clearly in good shape so I dont see that being a problem.
I have BJ to win this 3rd round TKO or Submission
EDIT: also notice how BJ weighed in only 2 pounds heavier than this to fight GSP and looked so much softer. In fact that fight is probably the worst shape I have ever seen him in. When he fought Machida he was really overweight but his conditioning was better than against GSP, makes me wonder...
makes you wonder what?? if BJ can add another excuse to his GSP arsenal and perhaps move up and catch another beatdown??
Anyways, im really pumped for this fight and i might be the only guy that agrees mental toughness plays a big factor and no, most fighters dont have it on diegos level to take a beating and keep going. I like the timing on this fight i think Diego is gonna explode standing early then slow the pace and try to finish it late with a flurry.
Could be wrong, obv BJ is no chump at LW, im very excited to see this fight go down, if BJ somehow handles Nightmare easy i will be vastly impressed.

I think its fair to say BJ was unfit for that fight, no?? As I said its the worst condition I have ever seen him in. Therefore if he came in better condition it would at least have been a closer fight. I don't think that's an unfair statement is it?? for example in the first round GSP could'nt take BJ down yet he could take him down with ease later on in the fight... so unless GSP figured out a new technique or something in round 2 I would say it was due to THE FACT THAT BJ WAS EXHAUSTED. Obviously its not the only reason he lost, GSP was on fire that night and you could see how much he wanted it, it was his night! Nevertheless I would still like to see how a well conditioned BJ penn would do against GSP compared to that dough boy we saw at UFC 94.

I think BJ Penn needs to stay at LW. Although I do think he could beat most WW fighters, he is more fit for LW. I also believe a fit BJ Penn would get beat handily by GSP as well. GSP has grown so much more than BJ has since their first fight. I just don't see the outcome changing.
Yeah their is not doubt he's better at lightweight but I think BJ has one of the best skill sets in the world (Second only to Anderson Silva maybe?). So it just makes me wonder what if BJ could get into shape at WW. Although obviously, it would take alot of work to get on GSPs level haha, the guy is a machine.
Anyways im sure I've pissed everyone off with this off topic banter so its the last im gonna say on the matter.

i'm not a huge Wilson Gouveia fan, but i just think that the nick name Alan "The Talent" is lame.
Kenny's coming off a his lose to BJ. just like he did after Sherk, he's gonna come back hard again. and in 2 years he'll get his 3rd shot at the title and it'll be against a Diego. All things old are new again.
however, if he fails that one, i think he's done at LW.

I think BJ could easily fight at 135, so to get up to 170 this last fight in particular I think he needs a better strength and conditioning coach I think he has trouble getting up there and being bult......its more like pudge he puts on and he didn't even weigh 170 at the weigh ins he was like 167 or something....
Bottom line is he is a great fighter and these are my fav2 155er's in the UFC so I'm torn, but looking for a win either way....
I guess if I were betting with my heart it would be Diego, and with my wallet....BJ
