BJ PENN is on a roll and in his prime right now!!.. He is dedicated and slaughtering his opponents of late..

Diego Sanchez is really good fighter, but I believe BJPenn is better in every area of MMA..

Ground fighting and submissions skills - Penn
Stand up - Close to even, but still go with Penn

Both have granite jaws so I don't see a knock out happening.. Cardio may favor Diego, but BJ Penn is training like crazy and probably won't gas out either.

This is going to be a good fight, but BJ PENN by decision..

I agree with you other than two things. Penn is not in his prime now. Without a doubt he is incredibly gifted and probably unbeatable at Lightweight. Another thing is Penn not gasing out. Sanchez sets a very high tempo and pace. I'm afraid that BJ will go all out right in the beginning and that will be a problem. Penn needs to set his own pace and pick Diego apart..

BJ Penn is going to take this. Sanchez is good but not on Penn's level.

you make me laugh. Penn in his prime?? he was destroyed by st. pierre, DESTROYED!!! winning streak? He only beat Florian afterwards and I dont think Kenflo is of the Nightmare's level...

Give Sanchez a chance... Penn's conditioning is crap...

Here we go with another BJ hater..

Everyone always says the same thing about BJ that he sucks and what not because GSP demolished him. Penn is a legitimate Lightweight and he went to compete at Welterweight. Not only did he move up a weight class but he also fought the best Welterweight in the world. GSP is an incredibly strong WW that destroys everyone in the division and should be in Middleweight since he's so big..

Penn fought possibly the best fighter in the world who was much bigger and stronger than he was. So don't talk crap for BJ being a competitor and taking on a challenge..

Another thing is BJ's conditioning. Of course it's no where near as good as Sanchez's but it has improved. Look at the fight with Florian. He set his own pace and picked Florian apart and it wasn't exactly a slow paced fight. He took it all the way to the fourth round and subbed Kenny so that takes some type of effort and some kind of cardio to do..

And last but not least Penn does have a winning streak going at Lightweight. He's won four straight beating the best there is at that division in Jens Pulver, Joe Stevenson, Sean Sherk, and Kenny Florian..

Nice try though

Believe me Im no hater cause I actually like BJ (since the season of ultimate fighter he was a trainer on) but I just like Sanchez more..

But as you know Penn doesnt take training always very serious.. his striking is probably at the same level of Sanchez, his ground game maybe a little better but his conditioning is way worse. So if this fight comes into the latter rounds, it wont be easy for Penn.. so give Sanchez a chance...

You right on aspect, Penn relied too much on his pure talent early in his career. But like BJ said and showed in the Florian fight he is a new fighter. A more focused fighter. Penn's boxing is way more advanced than Sanchez and Penn has much more power than Sanchez.. Did you watch the Sanchez fight against Guida? In the opening minute of the fight they both were throwing reckless punches and neither of them went down. Now if Diego tries doing that with BJ its 'Goodnight' for Sanchez. And as far as the ground game goes, BJ is probably the best BJJ practitioner in the UFC if not one of the best. Penn would easily submit Diego on the ground. Don't get me wrong now, Sanchez has some serious ground and pound but it’s nothing that BJ hasn't seen before and it's nothing that he can't handle..

You make good points. As far BJ Penn being in his prime now, I just can't think of any other time when BJ Penn has looked or fought better then right now..

Cardio is a question with a fast paced pressure fighter like Diego.. I believe that would be a concern for BJ Penn, but he has shown to be in great shape in his last couple of fights.

I am glad to ammuse you..Laughter is a good thing even at my expense..

Well, as far as BJ Penn being destroyed by GSP, everyone gets destroyed by GSP.. He was the bigger fighter and that fight was at the 170 weight class with BJ Penn.. BJ at 155lbs is a different monster..

The rededicated BJ PENN at 155 most recently destroyed Kenny Florian, Shaun Sherk on Roids, and Joe "big daddy" Stevenson.. Very impressive wins.

Diego Sanchez is not that much different from a Shaun Sherk and Joe Daddy as a fighter to me.. This is why I pick BJ Penn in this one..

Are you still laughing?
