I think he played a smart game and didn't seem to get frustrated by the reach. He may have some serious potential in the future.

Haha, like Rashard = Rashad + Tard . Just what comes to mind for me when I see people use it.

I was impressed with his ability to get in on the longer striker and also with his power...this is a guy i thought wouldnt be that good and he keeps showin improvement.....

Yeah I honestly didn't expect much from Efrain but he's definitely showing some promise.

Maybe it was just me, but did anyone else think that Miller came out sort of timid and nervous? When he ran over Junie he came out looking like he was ready to kill, but he looked like he didnt even want to be in the same cage as Efrain. Also, why is the lightweight division so full of good wrestlers? Every weight class has a few of them, but most of the top ten at lw are really good wrestlers that have adapted to mma.

This was a good win for Escudero. I picked him to win, but I didn't think it would be in the first round.

I don't mean to disrespect Miller, but he keeps running his mouth about Junie even after beating him. Sure, Junie talks a lot of trash in general, but he didn't say anything that bad about Miller. A lot of fighters discredits their opponents skills before they fight them, but Miller seemed to really take what Junie said to heart and just never stopped talking about it. Usually after you beat a guy, you stop insulting them, but he will take any opportunity to trash Junie if his name is mentioned.

I also didn't like his double standard about Lesnar. He was justifying what he is saying about Junie, but then he trashes Brock for bad mouthing Mir after beating him. Why? Because Mir is a "real mixed martial artist." Well Mir was running his mouth about Brock to before the fight, Lesnar just had emotions after the fight because he finally shut Mir up. At least he stopped, Miller will never stop running his mouth about Junie. Then he goes on and says how Brock has no technique and says that every guy he has beaten in the UFC can probably beat him as well. That goes for every fighter, anyone "can win". Way to discredit the UFC heavyweight champion. Who is Miller to make any of these remarks? What has he done in MMA? He has good BJJ, but nothing special. Lesnars wrestling credentials are way better than Millers BJJ credentials. As you can tell, I'm not a fan of Miller. He creates double standards to justify his remarks and insults guys that are way more accomplished than he is in MMA.

He has wins over Jorge Gurgel and Junie Browning and he has losses to Jeremy Stephens and Efrain Escudero in the UFC. He has also beaten Andy Wang and Leonard Garcia, but that isn't exactly top competition. Maybe getting finished in the first round against Escudero will humble him a little.

He has been humble before when admitting that Penn was the best at lightweight and would probably hold the title for a long time, so I give him credit there.

Escudero is definatly a promising prospect. We need to see him against an opponent like Hermes Franca or Nate Diaz to see how hard he can go when pushed.

A fight with one of these two would tell us alot about him. Win or lose.

I think he should get built up a little actually. I don't think he would beat Diaz or Franca right now. It might be too early.

Maybe they should give him someone like Terry Etim or Mark Bocek. I think they are both solid fighters, but I think Escudero would beat them both and they would build his experience.

A bit too early to see if he can be world class but he is on the right track.
Going all the way back to the TUF show, Efrain showed a ton of composure and class in not letting those 2 dickwads(Browning, Nelson) change his focus. I certainly wouldn't have blamed him if he would've beat their asses right there in the house.

It appears as though Efrain is a very intelligent fighter, and one who takes his craft seriously. He has shown continual improvement and still has a huge upside. Props to him for showing class, versatility, and brains in pursuit of his mma career.

Efrain wasn't landing anything really until a couple of minutes into the fight. Miller used his reach and peppered him with kicks + some straights. He was losing the standup to Cole Miller on points.

Props to Efrain for getting his first KO win though.
