Yawn, neither Swick or Hardy stand a chance against GSP

I think Swick is the more well rounded of the two fighters and I think he has a much better resume in the UFC than Hardy.

Hardy has 2 Split Decision Wins over Gono and Davis. And a win over Rory Markham. He has never beaten a top ten opponent, and even if he beats Swick he shouldnt be fighting GSP.

Swick has a very solid resume in 2 divisions in the UFC, so if he beats Hardy I wont mind him getting a shot at GSP, I just dont wanna watch it.

But what is either fighter gonna do to beat GSP. GSP is stronger than both of them and neither can stop his TD's. And once GSP is on top of you its a wrap.

If its Swick, I see him taking a 5 round beating similar to what Alves took.

And if its Hardy, he wont make it out of the 3rd. GSP will tap him out.

Why not have Swick vs Daley and Kos vs Hardy.

While I would still favor GSP at about -250, I still think Koscheck matches up with GSP the best. Especially with his improved standup.

I just dont wannna see a thin lanky striker get taken down and pummeled for 5 rounds or even shorter if its Hardy. Neither fighter can beat GSP. I wont be excited for either one.

Heres my idea.

A superfight for GSP. I'd like to see him fight Henderson or Wanderlei at 185 it doesnt matter. I think it would be a fight the fans want to see. It would get much better PPV buys than Swick/GSP thats for sure. And if GSP loses it wouldnt hurt his stock, he would be losing to much bigger guys that are legends in the sport. And if he wins, you could hype a Anderson Silva fight. The UFC is about making fights the fans want to see, and lets face it. Noone wants to see GSP pound on an overmatched foe for 5 rounds again. Its getting old. GSP/ Hendo or GSP/Wanderlei, now those are headliners!

No offense but it might have to do with the other thread someone created asking who can beat GSP, and they talked about Swick and Hardy among other fighters.

I might be wrong but that's my take on it.

1. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
2. Dan "Hollywood" Henderson
3. George "Rush" St Pierre

Yeah, Swick and Hardy have no chance just like Matt Serra had no chance. GSP can be caught, anyone can be. Its not to likely, but it could happen. Swick can put people away pretty quick with his hands, he has a decent ground game and he trains regularly with some of the best wrestlers in the division. Swick has a better chance then most people give him. I dont see Hardy really being able to do much agianst GSP though.

That's pretty much what I preach when it comes to MMA. Even though it's unlikely, GSP can be beat by Swick or Hardy since they both have good standup and "can" catch him and flash KO him!

Since GSP's loss to Serra, he hasnt given his opponents much of a chance to land that knockout blow. He puts them on their backs right away and takes their will to win right away. Noone likes getting elbowed in the face lol

What do you guys think about a matchup with Wanderlei?

I'd favor Silva and Henderson against St. Pierre.

Wanderlei, sure his take down defense is average at best, although he hits way harder than Matt Serra and his stand up is better than St. Pierres in my opinion. On the ground, all Silva does is neutralize his opponent, so I don't see him getting finished on the ground even though St. Pierre clearly has the better ground game. They will be on their feet a lot and I can see Wanderlei catching St. Pierre some time in the fight.

Against Henderson.. Almost the same thing, except Henderson has great wrestling. Seeing that he is bigger and stronger than St. Pierre helps him in that category and he has very heavy hands, just ask Bisping and other opponents he faced before coming back to the UFC. This guy hits hard and I don't think he would worry too much about St. Pierres stand up. Henderson has a great chin so I'm sure he would be confident going against a welterweight that is moving up a weight class. On the ground, I think Henderson would have the advantage. He has olympic level wrestling and he was out wrestling a great light heavyweight in Quinton Jackson for 2 rounds before losing control of the fight. St. Pierre may have great MMA wrestling, but I think Hendersons credentials and size would be too much for him on the ground.

St. Pierre probably would have a better chance against Wanderlei because of the possibility that he might be able to take him down consistently. I don't see a comfort zone for him if he fought Henderson.

I'd like to see Wanderlei Silva vs. Georges St. Pierre happen soon. It would be interesting and a fight I'd never think of seeing a few years ago.

Well no I don't see neither Swick or Hardy causing any trouble for GSP but it still doesn't hurt to give them a chance..

Miracles do happen, just look at Matt Serra

GSP will not be impressed by either of their performances before they even perform. He's that demanding of perfection.

People will always argue that GSP could get KO'ed because of the Serra fight, but there is really a very small chance of that happening. He just doesn't give people the chance to catch him anymore. The most likely outcome against anyone at 170 is a dominant victory for GSP.
