Think about it dude. The only time we see Rampage usually is fighting. We don't usually get to see his great personality except in short pre/post fight videos. The people who hired him for the movie must know that your average Joe would be like Rampage-who? Exposing him to the public on TUF has given the viewers a big dose of Rampage the man rather than the fighter. Whatever way you look at it, you cant deny that Rampage will be better known for being on TUF then if he wasn't.
For example, I had zero interest in the new A-Team movie. None at all. However, watching Rampage on TUF has thoroughly amused me and now I'm curious. So even from the perspective of an MMA fan who is familiar with Rampage, him being on TUF has sparked interest in the film.
To think that TUF and the film have no relevance to each other is wrong. I've worked enough in marketing and media to know that this kind of promotion is perfect for all parties.
