It's really funny...but almost all of the threads that get put up in this forum about the Tito vs Chuck fight are pretty much saying the same things. "Tito is going down like a prom date." "Chuck is going to eat Tito elbow for dinner." etc...
It just seems funny to me that people need to post uninsightful, hateful things on the forum that don't provide any information/backed up opinion to route the thread into a reasonable debate/provide a modest, unbiased
I don't know about you but I love MMA...no matter who's fighting..but reading stuff like that over and over agian leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. These two fighters are somewhere 95% of us will never set foot on; The Octagon. They are the best fighters to face each other, in their weight class, in the UFC. I'll be damned if there is anyone else in the UFC LHW that has the takedown and G&P of Tito at the moment. I'll also be damned if there is anyone else in the UFC LHW that has the stand up and takedown defense of Chuck at the moment either.
For everyones sake, please don't judge/make hate threads based on who you like better as a person. Base your threads on fact, technique, training, health, etc... I detest when peoples only joy from sports is to see their favorite team/athlete win. This happens all the time when I watch things like football with my friends...they'll be like "Man my team should have won ...if only our quarterback was better." "Um...how about your offensive linemen who are suppost to protect the quarter back giving him time to throw?" "Or how about the wide receivers who are suppost to execute the right maneuvers for the play?" It's not always about one thing. Sports contain many different layers that most people either take for granted or just don't notice. If you don't know what's really going on in a sporting event you are missing out on a lot of excitement and joy.
I get joy, whether my fighter wins or loses, from seeing two fighters/teams fighting/playing really well. I also get joy from knowing what those people are capable of, through analyzing the team's/fighter's stats. I also get joy of watching the fights with my friends who practice MMA. they each have an opinion that they support with facts and we often end up catching bits of the fight action that the other person missed when we discuss post-fight.
Now yes I am a Tito fan. I love what he did on TUF. He was a true coach and corner man for those kids. I think he was the best coach the show has ever had. Despite his antics in the ring (which I think are just him acting up cause he likes attention) I think he's a swell guy (from what I know). But this doesn't change the fact that I think Chuck is a wonderful fighter. It also doesn't change the fact that I think Chuck has a big upper hand. Chuck is really good/experienced with dealing with people that don't have as good of stand up but are takedown/submission fighters. I give Chuck 1/1 odds and Tito 1/2. Tito has an uphill battle with chuck. This fight just doesn't mesh well with his abilities. But win or lose I'm going to be happy just to see those two wonderful fighters clash once agian.
Oh well....I say goodluck to both.
