Gonzaga would definitely win. I haven't decided how yet.

How is Werdum Nog lite? Werdum doesn't have Nogs stand up but Werdums ground game is on a whole different level and vastly superior to Nogs.

The only way I want to see Nog lose is by a Gonzaga HK.

while i think werdum is the better pure grappler, i think nogueira's mma jitz is better than werdums. the way he rolls with his opponents punches to set up subs and sweeps is awesome to watch.

I don't think this fight will happen.

I don't get why so many of you are hanging off of Gonzaga's nuts though. He is overrated and Nog would win this fight.

How is he overrated? Gabe is a big guy with great Grappling credentials and ever improving stand up. He also refuses to be in a non exciting fight win or lose, so how can anyone not like the guy?
I don't think anyone here said Gabe is going to yoink the HW belt anytime soon, but instead stated that he is bad match up for Nog. Like Mir he is bigger and stronger than Nog with atleast as good if not better stand up and solid enough ground game to atleast avoid subs from Nog if not even finish him if he sets it up by dropping Nog first with a punch or kick.
If anything I think Gabe is underrated just because he lost couple fights against huge underdogs. He can cause alot of problems to any HW in world at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if he actually bounced back up with a win off Nog and got a shot at Brock after Carwin and Cain.

Isn't Werdum supposed to be one of the best Jiu Jitsu practitioners in MMA today along with Demian Maia? As far as this fight goes, OK fine if Nog wins he gets a title shot but what if Ol' Big Nose pulls out the victory? Surely he wouldn't get the title shot especially since he recently lost to the immediate title contender, it isn't really a title eliminator in that sense I don't know what it is. So if Gonzaga does win and unless Cain Velasquez wins emphatically against Ben Rothwell, the HW division turns into the LHW division in terms of title contenders.

great idea! i like this fight, this will show case some true skills, not that i didn't love the Cotoure/Nog fight, but it didn't show much except Nog has a really really tough chin, i'd like to see a little bit more ground from him before im totally convinced

I wouldn't say Gonzaga's overrated but he has never lived up to the hype or his talent level. Yeah he's got great grappling creds but he's barely ever used them, his striking technique is meh, he's dangerous on the feet because he has power but I wouldn't say he's a great striker by any means, and his gas tank has always been questionable, if this fight happened I would take Nog by UD, he's a far more proven and accomplished MMA fighter, and that's all that matters, MMA, not BJJ competition's.
