Exclamation Kimbo Slice offers to replace Mark Coleman in Tito Ortiz bout

http://www.fiveknuckles.com/mma-news...rtiz-bout.html

Hopefully it happens.

Quote:
Current TUF 10 contestant Kimbo Slice has offered to step in for Mark Coleman at UFC 106 to fight Tito Ortiz.
In the very early hours of the morning, Ortiz stated on his Twitter page that Coleman had withdrew from their upcoming fight, which is set to take place on Nov. 21. While there has not been any confirmation from the UFC, the reported withdrawal is seeming more and more likely to be confirmed.
Approximately an hour after Ortiz's post, Slice posted the following on his Twitter page: "shit I'll take on @titoortiz"
Nine hours after that statement, Slice made another comment: "STOP STOP STOP...my remarks towards tito was said as a joke but i still want to her was Tito has to say about it"
Ortiz has not yet responded to the comments. However, it does bring up an interesting storyline. Slice is currently a contestant on TUF 10 and does not have a contract with the UFC. UFC 106 takes place before the finale of TUF 10.
The opponent for Ortiz's UFC 106 bout is yet to be changed. While it is very unlikely that Slice will replace Coleman, it is uncertain who will be the next to fight "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy."

Please no, Ortiz would take this to the ground and Kimbo would have to lay there like a little girl and take it...

Catch weight indeed.

The guy is a solid 230 and really doesn't have any body fat to shed. Strength and power would surely be compromised with a drop down to 205.

IMO, Kimbo should've never been on TUF. He will get his contract in the UFC regardless and it'll just make the show look non legit. It would be a fun fight, but I can't say I'm excited to see it.

lol, this stuff got me thinking. So.. it seems like, Kimbo is definatley ready to fight at UFC 106, but if we look at the other side of the hill, Dana and the UFC is just playing with the TUFs ratings.

They are hyping, that Marcus Jones isn't feeling good, that Kimbo MAY return and stuff like that. But then it hit me.. Even if he fights again, there's allmost no chance of him being in the finals, so he will probably lose again (if he will fight). Why? Let's assume he did both - win the semi's, and got the fight with Tito, for example. And then what? He fights Tito and then, after a month later he fights in the finals?
I'm not saying that isn't possible, but there is a certain risk taking. Even though, I'm pretty sure, Kimbo would take it, still.. I think, that they are just hyping up this Kimbo scene, to keep the watchers interested (and sure, they have to - the first 3 fights sucked.).

Thoughts?

well i dont post alot but a few things. Tito would shoot and pound the fu#$ out of slice. That being said i see no issue with Kimbo in the UFC. He is no worse off the Houstin Alexander when he first showed up in the UFC, or a Tank Abbot ( I know thats old UFC) but who care he can box. Put him with another boxer and give the fans a show.
