What do you guys think? I agree with both of them, but Georges was ranked only 7 below tiger...that might be a little much.

For me GSP would be way higher but that's just me, the guy is pretty much my hero as far as aspirations go. I'm not even Canadian.

Dana White is def a very influential dude. I dont know about GSP, he is a great fighter, but i dont know that a lot of people are really sitting around waiting him to speak about something at least once a week. Whenever Dana does or says something its big news, i dont think people give as much weight to the things GSP says or does.

I agree with these rankings but for #36 instead of GSP there couldve been a few other ufc fighters. Silva inspires me.

GSP???? That really surprises me. I love GSP but I wouldn't put any UFC fighter on that list (Dana I can see) and if one did make it I'd expect to see Couture/Lesnar/Lidell before GSP because they are bigger names and American.

Are we really going to complain that the bigger 'name' didn't get more credit than skill here on an mma forum?

I actually believe both should be on the list. I think GSP is a fair choice over other fights because he is on a superstar level in terms of popularity in Canada. He is an MMA fighter that has the same level of fame in Canada as Kobe Bryant does in America for basketball.

When talking about the sport you immediately think of that fighter. When talking about golf who is the first person to pop into your mind? If its not Tiger then you're probably avoiding the obvious answer or are a golf enthusiast that has a favorite golfer outside of Woods.

Dana White is also synonymous with MMA. Nobody in the general public who knows even the slightest bit about MMA doesn't know who Dana White is. The same goes for GSP as well. While Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell have fame, its nowhere near the level of GSP to be quite honest, and neither is a current champion. Which adds even more to Georges' stock.

Yeah GSP is probably the biggest Canadian Icon in sports right now. Honestly though Dana is at 10? I think he should be higher, this is a guy who has spoke to governments and not only influenced the organization he operates but also the very laws that govern it. That is being influential IMO.

Dana is living the American dream. Not only does he pretty much enjoy what he does, he took the ufc from a side show joke to something that's selling out casinos and stadiums while threatening boxing.
