Wait what? Jackson didn't expose anything in Chuck's game. Chuck made the mistake of opening a combo with an uppercut without having a guard up. The same mistake that me made against Rampage. If anyone exposed that part of Chuck's game it was Jackson.

Chuck's downfall has been because of his age. He doesn't have the chin that he used to because he's been dropped in all of his last 5 (Rampage. Jardine, Wandy, Rashad, Shogun) fights, finished in 3 (Rampage, Rashad, and Shogun) of them.

The reason Chuck's chin has started to degrade is because 1) his opponents are no longer wrestlers/jiu jitsu fighters spoon fed to him, but rather well rounded strikers and 2) he's slowed down. Chuck's defense has always been pretty bad, but his sprawl and speed were what kept him in fights. Take away the speed and put him in with fighters who don't shoot from the outside, then you have a knockout coming.

Chuck has some good matchups at Heavyweight but if he does move up he needs to keep his hands up and possibly look to take fights to the ground. He isn't going to be able to take shots from the big boys and with the new breed of heavyweights a good sprawl isn't going to be enough to save him from the takedown.

Vitor Belfort comes to mind, though. He's always had some pretty awesome hands, and Chuck handled him just fine, back in the day. There's a definite decline.
