Here's an idea......why dont the boys from A.K.A grow some balls and call each other out instead of calling an irrelivant old Hughes....

I hate Hughes but seriously, are they gonna go after Matt Serra next???

They are hard but wont fight each other to advance their careers??

Well, I think they see calling out Hughes to be a career move- like Frankling fighting Shamrock. Gotta beat a legend to be a legend, etc. Calling out Matt Serra would still mean a tough fight, with less payoff tho.

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

I'm actually behind AKA on this one. Hughes is a prick, and you reap what you sow.

I have to agree with this. When they start calling out fighters in their prime and relevant to a title shot, then I'll be impressed.

I'm a fan of Fitch and Swick too.

Funny things happen when the top contenders are terrified of the current champ. They just start calling out old champs.

Really though, I can understand Hughes' confusion. Why call out Hughes? He hasn't trash talked any of the AKA boys, and if they lost to him how would their camp look? Hughes can still be dangerous if motivated enough, but if I were any of the AKA guys I'd be way more focused on GSP than on Hughes.

Maybe cause Alves destroyed him and got a title shot... but I doubt either of them want a title shot yet. That'd just be brutal and disheartening.

What's up with these guys calling Hughes out, he's on the verge of retirement, Hughes isn't a can by any means even at this point in his career but he's nowhere near the top of the WW division anymore and way past his prime, if you're gonna call someone out call out someone near the top or on the rise i.e. GSP or since those AKA buddies won't fight each other call out Anthony Johnson or something, stop trying to pad your record with aging legends.

EDIT: and for the record I'm not buying into this Swick hype all of the sudden he's mediocre at best imo and I would take Matt Hughes over him anyday

Agreed these 3 look pretty silly to me i guess they realise none of them can take GSP so they call out the old and ageing champ?

Really, talking shit to a fighter on the verge of retirement? Yeah, Hughes is a dick, but that doesn't make it any less shameful. What if there were a hoard of guys calling out Sakuraba?

If anyone's earned the right to pick and choose opponents, it's Matt Hughes. Dude fought anyone who was put in front of him for a very long time. Strikers, bjj guys, wrestlers, good matchups, bad matchups -- it didn't matter.

How would Matt Hughes' career stand to be advanced by a fight with Koscheck.? In his last four fights, Kos has alternating wins and losses, with the most recent defeat coming by knockout against a guy nobody even heard of.

Now he beats Trigg, a guy Hughes mauled twice -- in Trigg's prime, I should add -- and Koscheck thinks he can call out Hughes? Come on.

I'm not even a Hughes fan, but I respect him. Koscheck, Fitch and Swick, who have yet to achieve anything approaching what Hughes has achieved, should show a little respect themselves.

Indeed, it's a race for second place in multiple UFC divisions now, at 155, 170, and 185 in particular. Lyoto hasn't defended, and Brock only once but the 205 and 265 champs look pretty terrifying, respectively.
