UFC Trash Talk: Mike Swick and Paul Daley Exchange War of Words

With the UFC welterweight fighting for position to get into number 1 contender status to face current champion Georges St-Pierre there is Mike Swick getting set to take on Dan Hardy at UFC 105 in November while Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley who stepped in for Swick made quick work of Martin Kampmann in his Octagon debut at UFC 103 just a few weeks back. However, since the fight Swick had some words on Daley’s overall game and now Daley has responded.
In separate interviews with Sun Sport Swick has said that Daley is not a top fighter in his eyes and that Martin Kampmann handed him the victory at UFC 103.
“Kampmann played right into Daley’s hands. He got a win handed to him, and that’s it?
“Daley has a big mouth, but it’s going to get shut sooner or later. Even though I like Dan Hardy, I am glad I am fighting him and not Daley.
“Paul has just come on the scene and isn’t well rounded, while Hardy is a bigger fight and better test.
“Maybe I will fight Paul at some point, but fighting him does not excite me as much as fighting Hardy.”
Now Daley got wind of what Swick said and he responded by saying that his Rough House teammate Dan Hardy is going to not only beat Swick, but ask Hardy to throw in a extra beating as a favor to him.
“I saw Mike’s comments saying I’ve got a lot of losses on my record, but he’s someone who’s never fought a top guy.
“I don’t want to waste too much time on him because he’s going to get a beating at the hands of Dan anyway.
“But if he wants to pull out of his fight with Dan — I’ll gladly knock him out instead! “I might even ask Dan to put an extra beating on him just to shut him up once and for all!”
Semtex throw some more gas to the fire when he said that Swick’s teammates Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch may train with, but he is probably the guy they pretty much try to get away from.
“If they want to start that, then bring it on. I actually shared a dressing room with Josh at UFC 103 when I was fighting Kampmann.
“Despite what some people might think of him, Josh is actually a pretty cool guy. But out of those three, Swick’s the friend they try to shun.
“Koscheck and Fitch might spar with him every day but he’s not as good as either of them. For him to think he’s on their level is ridiculous — he needs to shut his mouth.
With the way these two are talking one would believe that they are facing one another at UFC 105 and not Dan Hardy, but in the UFC this fight could be a very good possibility in the future. What do you think?
