The only thing that worries me about this fight for Nogueira is that Gonzaga hits like a ******* meteor and Nog's head movement hasn't looked good in his last couple of fights. He'll need to watch out for Napao's straight punches and block his high/low kicks but it'll prob still hurt him. Couture got his arm broken for attempting to block Gonzaga's high kick.
I'll root for him all the way though. I hate MMAth but since Minotauro beat Werdum way back when and Werdum owned Gonzaga twice in 2003 and again in 2007... You know what I mean?
Gonzaga's known to give up when the pressure is too much on him. Maybe Nog can get his first finish in a while.
Just my opinion.

Nog has only looked good in the ufc in the fight against coture who is barely a heavyweight, non impressive fight with Herring, non impressive fight w sylvia, and got murdered by mir. YES big nog was a legend of pride but so was crocop and we see how hes doing now. I say if mir beats kongo which im sure he will then have a rematch for number one contendership.put all the staph infection shit talk to rest and see if mirs win was a fluke..Rothwell barely has a name in the ufc and valasquez isnt ready. I agree he shouldnt fight GG because it is a step back but there isnt really anyone for him to fight in the heavyweight divison but dos santos who probably will never fight his mentor.
and i would bet money that GG would tear big nog apart. just my opinon

I got Gabe winning this by TKO still like I said in previous topic. It'll stay standing and Gabe is much stronger and more explosive than Nog there.

I'll take that sig bet. I love how people use "going the distance" against Fedor as proof of Nog's greatness. Getting beat up like a red-headed stepchild for half an hour without landing so much as a slap isn't something to be proud of. Yeah he had a great chin, but what good is that against someone with sub-defence, if all it does is get you beat up longer? Beating a 47 year old Couture on a losing streak doesn't cut it either.
Despite claims to the contrary, Nog does NOT have very good standup. In 38 fights, he has only one KO (over a nodody MW) and 1 TKO (over a 1-4 can). Every decent standup HW like Timmy, CroCop, Herring, Fedor, Mir and even Sapp has destroyed him on the feet. Noguiera's saving grace has always been that he had a good chin and eventually managed to get it to the ground, where he'd sub guys without BJJ creds.
Gonzaga is not one of those guys ... he has excellent BJJ himself and is not likely to get subbed by Nog. His standup is FAR superior and he is a much bigger, stronger guy, the type that Nog has always struggled with when they have any degree of sub defence.
Let me know if you accept the sig bet.. if you do, how bout it goes for two PPVs? And let's not make the sig too nasty.

Sounds delightful...hmmm....I'll wait until I'm drunk to make up what it says in the sig bet and don't worry, it'll only be somewhat nasty.
