I agree that the card isn't the strongest but you usually find the weaker cards have the better fights on the night IMO.

I think they actually think we want to see C-Level Brits fight.
I agree. They aren't going to be able to build some of the Brits up in US, especially the TUF rejects but it seems the UFC sees draw potential for them fighting in the UK.

I don't think some of the fighters on the card would even be in the UFC if it wasn't for the fact they are from this side of the pond. That is enough to tell me the UFC does this strategically, and it is more than just logistic reasons which someone mentioned.

the only thing that gets me about this card is vera v.s. couture, it doesn't make sense to me.

i hear what youre saying man but i think you have kind of a twisted view. i really think dana is trying to give you guys and english/european fighters what they want. I mean here stateside every card isn't a ufc 100 either man, and this country is so big we don't get to go to every event, infact i have never been to a ufc because they are never in my area or region, i have been to strike force and other promotions that come through. i think you're being a little ungratful in your gripe.

Well they offered the fight to Rashad, would that have made sense? Vera is the only really available LHW with a name. A win over Vera will put Couture in the area for a fight with a contender, thats all there is to it.

Its not like the UFC thought 'ok Couture needs a top LHW... Brandon Vera!'

They are justing making what they can out of the situation and giving us a main event. I'm fine with it, getting to see Couture fight live is an experience for any MMA fan.

you put vera against anyone else and this becomes barely decent even if it were an UFN. but, if the top 3 fights turn out to be entertaing and Randy gets his much needed win in dominating fashion, I will enjoy this free event. I just gotta try to stay off the net in between air time and fight time. that always seems to be the worst thing about tape delay.

to /\ i think that Couture is going to go after the LHW title because the HW title is clearly out of his reach. Even if he doesnt go after the belt, there are tons of more amazing and winnable fights for him at LHW, ie forrest, chuck IV, tito II, coleman, rich, hendo, a long shot at andy silva. all of which are strong main event bouts. so 205 is the place for him.

I remeber thinking the same as the ts about the last card in England I went to see (UFC 95 Sanchez vs Stevenson) and it was the most entertaining event i have been to (4).
