Henderson talks about progress with UFC contract

Looks Like Hendo and the UFC still have some things to work out but from the sounds of it will come to a deal.

Henderson still seems a bit upset that He's not getting Silva, and more upset that Vitor is.

Quote:
“I really planned and hoped on fighting Anderson Silva though, and for some reason they gave that fight to Vitor [Belfort] instead; who is somebody I’ve fought and beat. So we’ll see what happens.”
Hendo is awesome and like he points out has done alot for the sport, I know you gotta sell tickets and what not but its too bad that Hendo is being overlooked on his rematch with Anderson.

Who do you think deserves the shot more, Hendo or Vitor?

If you count Vitor's fights outside the UFC it's not even close.

Hendo hasn't beaten any top competition since losing to Silva.

The UFC has to bring Hendo back. He deserves it. I wonder if Hendo would be open to a fight with Machida at 205. If not, he should get the winner of Anderson/Vitor.

Well seems there are 4 guys going for a title shot.

Vitor
Hendo
Marquardt
Okami.

Why not Do Vitor vs Hendo for title shot.
Okami vs Marquardt for the next one?

Or something along those lines, mix it up with Marquardt vs Vitor. Either way I think those 4 produce some really interesting fights. At the end of it all, you can always put them in the spiders web.

I probably was being sarcastic in the above post. I think you should flame me for it.

Not even close?

Belfort hasn't beaten any top shelf guys since his loss to Hendo if you want to apply that logic. They've both beat a declining Franklin, and Vitor beating Lindland and Terry Martin are quality wins, but hardly stellar competition.

Vitor and Hendo both have incredible MMA resumes. Placing Belfort on that pedastal while discounting Hendo seems a bit biased don't you think.

There is no big mystery as to why Vitor is getting the next shot, he hasnt had his ass handed to him by Silva. Most fans would much rather see Silva fight someone new instead of a rematch with a fighter that hasnt changed at all since there fight. Also, it would be wrong to give Hendo a title shot in front of Nate. Nate has put together the same number of wins in a row against equal or better competition and all of his fights have been at middleweight.

I agree with this 100%, I would even go farther and say beating Lindland means nothing at all compared to fighters in the UFC he's not even a top 15 fighter.

Not trying to bash but I think Lindland is a very overrated fighter by some fans.
