hendo/couture would be a simlar fight with machida. clinch, dirty boxing, takedown, rinse and repeat.

hendo however is the better match up. he has the intagibles that couture doesnt. the ko power and a super chin to give machida problems.

with all that said hendo should be the one fighting evans if hes going to fight at 205. now his only option is a lesser ranked fighter or forrest griffin.

I'd rather see Hendo stay at MW then move back to LHW, I think, now that he's getting on in his career, he needs to set his sights on one division belt and work towards it, a goal he can definitely acheive.

no. AS seemed to have improved since their last meeting and Hendo hasn't appeared to have significantly progressed at all.

I would like to see Machida vs Hendo, I think stylisticlly it could be an interesting fight. Hendo never tries to over-commit and he has a chin to help him get through his mistakes. He is also patient and doesn't rush things, and as we saw with Bisbing (No I am not in any way saying Bisping and Machida are anywhere close to the same in any other way than working for the UFC) Hendo can chase for a long period of time and not get frustrated as most of Lyoto's opponents do. Does Hendo deserve it? Not really, but it would make an interesting match and both are starting to see a huge rise in their popularity, put it together and you could have a huge PPV.

The thing is Machida can finish what Bisping was trying to do to Henderson: Win a decision based on sticking and moving. Machida is leagues better than Bisping standing up and on the ground.

I'd see a one sided decision or a late second/third round choke submission by Machida. Henderson always has a chance to land that overhand right but Machida never stops moving and I believe he'll be quick enough to stay away from his take downs.

Just my opinion.

After Shogun, there is nobody for Machida. Couture would be a joke cuz he'd have his head torn off the second Machida decides to counter him. Hendo's slowpitch righthand would get him killed cuz The Dragon could counter then stand there and laugh at Hendo before that punch is anywhere close to landing on him.. Really, there is nobody in the UFC that would even be a challenge for Machida.

haha, so what should the UFC do, just let Machida keeep the belt for a couple years with no defences.
I don't know if any of the 105 or 106 light heavyweights should get a title shot after a win. Henderson just seems a logical choice, big name and poses as much of a threat to Machida as anyone else. What would you have the UFC do?

It's a good match-up, with the Hendo-Bisping match-up Hendo had 0 respect for Bisping's striking, if he fought Machida he would wing that right hand out there and look for a clinch and work his Greco, right now the more interesting fights for Hendo are at 205 imo
