New Frank Trigg interview.

I don't know why everybody has come up with Serra as an opponent. Matt didn't say he was fighting me and to my knowledge, I haven't heard anything about it at all. I don't know who they are going to give me or what they're going to do with me. I think Serra would be a good fight for me if he's the guy because he's the only guy in the division that is shorter than me (laughing). I'm actually taller than he is, so it would be the first time that I had to fight a guy that is short. I have a lot of training partners in my camp that can mimic his style very well. I would have to bring in like an Andy Wang for the ground game. I have a couple of Jiu Jitsu guys that I can work with very well, but with Tyson Griffin and Gray Maynard, these guys are the same height as Matt Serra. It would be great for me to compete against him and very simple, but of course, the same thing if they gave me a Swick; a lot of guys in my camp that can train me to fight Swick or Fitch. I had a lot of guys that trained me and had me ready to fight Koscheck even though it didn't go my way. If my next fight is Serra, it's going to be a loser leave town match cause he is on a 2-fight losing streak, so that would be 3 fights in a row that he lost and for me, it would be a 2-fight losing streak if I lost and I'm out. One of us is going to have to go home. If I fight somebody else and I lose, I'm going to have to leave regardless because I would have 2 losses. I would like for them to give me a tomato can, like some low-level martial artist, so I can beat the crap out of somebody for a change and get a win streak going, but the way they work with me, it's going to be somebody tough no matter who it is.

Andy actually has a pretty solid ground game plus he has the same physique as Serra almost.

With that said I'd like to see Trigg KO Serra since Serra (good odds so I thought) lost me money against the Hughes fight...lolz! But I won the Machida vs Evans that night.

Wow, after reading that crap i hope he doesn't make the main card on his next fight. Dana is gonna be pissed when he see's that shit and rightfully so.

I hope they sign cyborg for a 1 fight deal just to fight him. And at this point i think she could kick his ass. He certainly couldn't utilize any nut kicks to his advantage, she keeps those things well tucked.

Well lets be honest...who else is he gonna fight. THINK ABOUT IT FRANK.....he could fight Huges again and prob lose, or Fitch and get murdered, or Serra who isnt a spring chicken and not too active fight wise right now....

I actually posted I thought this would be the next best fight for him......

He might actually get a win.....then run your mouth Frank...

okay, so i watched a couple AW vids, and i gotta say that while he looks to have a decent ground game, i think Serra has a MUCH better ground game, but that may be just experience.

i just thought Andy Wang was a punch line now days...

well, i'm pulling for Serra, he's always been one of my favorites for years... even if he only fights once a year.

I think this would be a good fight,i think serra could win this on the ground i dont see it staying on the fight for too long..if i were to bet it would be on serra and he needs to get back on the winning track u_u

man, as much as i give trigg chance after chance, the guy just comes off like a vain douche each time eventually, whether it be fighting or commentating. he shouldn't be talking about serra's career, trigg only WISHES he could have a KO of GSP on his record.

And one thing I do believe, were either of these guys to get cut by the UFC, I'm sure Serra would be the more likely one to get one more contract sometime down the line.

Serra is a lot more well known and marketable at this point in time.

And TBH I see Serra wanning this fight anyway. His grappling is leapyears beyond Trigg's and his standup is better too. Trigg would have nothing for him imho.

I really wish that Serra would drop down to lightweight, i think he wouldnt have to much trouble getting himself into title contention there. I think he can beat Trigg and some lower tier welterweights, but he is gonna have the same issues against the top five to eight guys that he had against GSP. I just dont see him getting anywhere near a title shot at welterweight.

Well, Serra used to fight at LW. Back at UFC 39 fought BJ for the LW title and lost... what would go different today? Guys don't get better at cutting weight as they get older, and if anything BJ is a better fighter today than he was then.

He did better in his fight against Hughes than he did against BJ, and he has made it clear that he doesn't like the 155 cut and doesn't want to do it. Frankly I don't see Serra ever being relevant in the title picture at any UFC weight class again anyway. He is in last mile of his career and right now he should be looking for interesting matchups that will generate PPV's and let him leave the sport in style. The Hughes fight was a good one, Trigg isn't a terrible one. I haven't spent time thinking about who would be the best match though.

He has a decent ground game. He's never given anyone serious trouble on the ground except complete cans. His BJJ credentials are excellent but they don't transition to MMA.

I can't think of a WW in the UFC that I would pick Serra to beat right now. If he won't drop to LW it is entirely possible he'll never win another fight in the UFC. At LW he'll still be no where near the title picture but at least there are some guys I can see him beating.
