I had actually just completely forgotten about Paulo Thiago, so I was just sitting there and questioning whether I had eaten or drank something funny.

When I read the thread title I thought Alves was either fighting himself or Thiago Silva or Thiago Tavares, I was very confused. Thiago must be the Brazillian equivilant of Thomas or something, heh.

Anyway, Paulo Thiago has been a perpetual underdog in his UFC stint. Many wrote him off going into the Koscheck fight and labled it a bad stoppage afterward, despite knocking Kos out legit (even if it was a flash ko it was still a ko.)

This will be a rough fight, Alves has some brutal kicks that he never used against GSP and his ground game is getting better. Thiago, I'm convinced, has cinder blocks for hands. Its going to be a good fight.

I didnt see Thiagos last fight with Fitch, but if his stand up hasnt improved vastly since he knocked out Koschek then he will get put to sleep early. Alves isnt Kos, he has more then an overhand right. He throws hard, straight punches that can knock just about anyone out at anytime. I see Thiago going down in the first.

Swick is a legit contender, but talent wise, is barely top 5.
TBH everyone you named I can see Swick beating, he's more than just a striker he's a very well rounded fighter and KoS might give him a go but they train together so the odds of that fight are low even so Id pick Swick over him all day long again the rest of your picks to beat him dont match up well against his fight style at all and I dont see any of them beating him.

Paulo Thiago should be put to bed very early in this fight IMO.

Oh, I thought it was like that South Park where everyone's evil twin had a goatee.

Anyway, Thiago Alves should take this.

Both guys lost to GSP, both guys were on huge rolls (Though, Fitch is on a nice 2 fight win streak) and they have faced each other before (And it was a solid fight).

Paulo Thiago is someone I'm not sold on. He should get manhandled here.
