One on One with Lyoto Machida

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles...machida-20359?

The interview starts slowly but warms up.

After the GSP interview... another man who doesn't stop training ever! Apparently had 8 days off after Evans before training again.

I found it really romantic that he leaves the studying of his opponents to his father and brothers. He's basically admitting that his pops puts together his game plan.

He admits he would like to fight Brock in the future sometime.

At 9-ish minutes he says he's improving his English because he would like to do "the" reality show. I completely read that as him wanting to do TUF, but the interviewer didn't follow up on the comment. Your thoughts?

His Brazil line up at the end was lovely.

peace

I don't understand what you find "romantic" about his father doing the opponent studying for him.

It's English dude.
Romance:
A mysterious, exciting, sentimental, or nostalgic quality.
or
A narrative in verse or prose, written in a vernacular language in the Middle Ages, dealing with strange and exciting adventures of chivalrous heroes.

I certainly consider the closeness with his family and allowing his pop to game plan is romantic. Name me one other fighter who has a relationship with their dad like that. Warms my heart just thinking about it.

Don't worry. I wasn't implying Lyoto getting funky with his dad, or some other wonky concepts.

Machida on TUF would be awesome. How is Lil Nog's English?

The Ultimate Fighter: Team Machida vs Team Nogueira.

Yah just watched it on the other site actually. Stellar fight line-up in the end. Looks like Lyoto does want to fight Rampage.

Think Lyoto is going to frustrate the hell outta Shogun. But that's what is going to make the fight exciting rather than Rashad dancing around trying to imitate and mimic his movement. Shogun is going to explode when he sees the right moment, but knows what lies ahead of em. Anybody know the odds for this fight. Prolly -500 for "The Dragon."

I'm not totally sure why 2 teammates who probably will never fight would be interesting. Silva, Nogs, Machida, and Dos Santos have a little alliance going and I dont see any of them fighting each other.

That's such an intriguing fight. I'd put a little money on Lyoto since I know he'd be a heavy underdog. Think they may go back to the free weight format if the PPV and contracts were worth it maybe for a special event. Especially if each title holder is as dominant as they are now. What better than to go up. Brown/Faber to LW, BJ back to WW, GSP to MM, A. Silva to LHW, Lyoto to HW, Brock to SHW. Then the top three weight divisions would have a round robin.
