he walks round at 215??? thats ridiculous. I wish welterweight fighters were actually welterweights and weight cutting wasnt such a big part of the sport. It would be great if they could just weight the fighters afew hours before the event but obviously it could mean disaster if a fighter fails to make weight so soon before he is scheduled to fight.

Just reminding everyone he had a knee injury prior to this fight. And if im not mistaken, he did say he had to cut weight from 215 for "this fight". I'm sure during the injury he wasn't nearly as active as he normally is, which would explain why he has more weight to cut.

He said he was only 220lb because of an injury, see how Frank Trigg's weight escalated but Johnson's frame is able to take it. He said he will move up to MW in the future.

I guess if Thiago Alves can do it, Rumble can. In an interview up here in Canada GSP said Alves walks around at 210-215, as crazy as that sounds...

But I agree -- Johnson (much bigger or at least longer frame than Alves) is cutting an absurd amount of'll shorten his career.

I figure he's a professional and him, his coaches, and his doctors have the situation under control.

I guess the proof will be in the pudding. He should be able to get by Yoshida. That'll be the first test.

I think he should move up to MW. Cutting that much weight is insane and will have consequences down the road.

there's nothing healthy about the way these guys, boxers, body builders and all the rest cut weight. go tell your doctor, hey doc, i'm gonna lose 20 lbs in 4 weeks, put it back on, then do it all over again in a few months, and see what he or she says. all these guys will pay a physical price somewhere down the line, but i thank them for putting on a show for me. lol.
