Rumble Johnson needs to lose 20 in a week?

Is that normal or at least somewhat normal?

Starting to wonder if the guy would be better as a MW. He started at 220. Now he's at 190 with a week to go. I don't know, maybe 20 in water is no sweat (sorry for the pun).

I have a feeling AJ will have a short career at 170.

Time to move to 185 or 205. Your height, reach, and KO Power could do good there too.

No need to kill your kidneys by cutting 50 pounds.

He cuts like this ALL the time. His walk around weight is always 215ish ...give or take.

IMO, the weight cuts do have a negative effect on his game ( not a major issue as of now though). He seems to gas some in a few of his fights.

Very good fighter. I would love to see him fight Bones Jones.

There are people out there doing a great job making it look like a non-violent sport. Thatís not my job. My job is warfare. Iím over here to (expletive) kill..... Nick Diaz

Is it healthy to cut that much weight every few months, man this guy needs to fight in a higher weight class. I'm sure most LHW's walk around at that, even Randy and Cro Cop aren't too much heavier than that.

Favourite Fighters:

HW: Junior Dos Santos
LHW: Gegard Mousasi
MW: Anderson Silva
WW: Georges St. Pierre
LW: Kenny Florian

I think LHW may be pushing it, but MW may work. My guess is, he'll be more competitive at that weight. I have a feeling he'll struggle with some of the better WW's in later rounds. It's just hard to believe dropping that much weight won't affect him negatively.

But then again, there are some MW's that may pose new problems for him. It's really hard to say how good he is, til he faces that top 5 opponent.

If he doesnt have a problem with it then i dont think he should worry about moving up in weight right now. I dont think he is that technically skilled of a fighter, his advantage in size, strength, and explosivness are what really make him stand out at welterweight. He would make a good sized middleweight and an average sized lightheavyweight. He is a giant welterweight and you need to grasp to every advantage you have as a fighter in the UFC right now.

Seems like he'd be weak and exceptionally dehydrated, even if he's used to a cut like that.

I guess we'll see how he does when he fights top 10 competition. So far he's been looking really good. If WW doesn't work out for him then he could do a lot of damage at 185. The guy is huge for WW.

I think he's a moron for still fighting at 170, health wise, it must be destroying him. Not to mention the obvious effect on his MMA game.
