Can Yoshiyuki Yoshida Handle The Big Johnson?

I know it's going to be hard to handle the Big Johnson, but if Yoshida's patient, he can make the Big Johnson go limp. Sometimes, Johnson can be stiff, and that's when Yoshida takes him down, grabs a hold of him and makes him go limp.

Hard fight to predict, but Yoshida can do it.

Discuss.

I agree it's a hard fight to predict. It's just a wierd matchup stylistically. All I've seen from Johnson is that he is gigantic and hits like a truck. Yoshida obviously has his judo and some average standup. I would imagine Johnson's conditioning isn't gonna be all that great since he dropped from 220 but who knows. I think if Yoshida can weather the storm for a bit he should be able to judo his way to a decision.

It all depends if Yoshida fights a smart fight. If he tries to stand with Johnson like he did against Koscheck then he is going to get KO'd again. However, if he clinches and gets this to the ground, I'm confident he would submit Johnson.

I actually hope this fight is more of a grappling match since I want to see Johnson's conditioning.

IMO, if Koscheck can KO him, Rumble definitely can too. Either way, it should be a thoroughly solid fight.

Was this a serious post or were you making a play on words (Big Johnson, limp, stiff etc)
anyway there's no way Yoshida takes AJ down. AJ's wrestling is to explosive and he would be able to see Yoshida's shot before Yashida knew he was shooting, AJ's wrestling it top notch.

well you see big johnson has a tendacy to blow his load prematurely sometimes and seems and soften up a bit as minutes go by. He always starts out hard, pumping like a machine, but the question will be if he will be able to keep it up. He might want to try some techniques i use, such as thinking about something else other than the matter at hand, switching positions, or even stalling to get a quick break in, all useful in my opinion and have worked well in the past.

I agree with this. I also wont be at all surprised if Yoshida gets him in a sub. Johnsons cardio hasnt looked all that great in the past and i dont see Yoshida getting caught again after what happened with Kos. I think that Yoshida will have a big advantage if he can take him into deep water.
