They should compromise and tell him he can have the million if he beats Nate and Anderson. That way, there is almost no way in hell they are gonna have to fork over the money, but he still has a "chance" to get it.

It seems like everyone's just speculating as to the actual numbers. None of us even know what the "seven figures" means:

Could be Dana spouting bullshit.
Could be total value of a multi-fight contract.
Could be a signing bonus.
Could be something else.

I'm not gonna believe Henderson demanded a certain amount unless he says it himself, and I'm not gonna believe Dana offered a certain amount unless he says it himself (even then I'm dubious 'cuz it's Dana).

But in principle, I support Dan getting a raise. He's a big draw, he's paid his dues, his value is at a maximum after TUF/Bisping, and Dana screwed him out of a title shot. Dan and everyone else know Dana would hang him out to dry if he lost a couple in brutal fashion or had a number of boring fights.

For those who go on about the 'athletes are overpaid' stuff... how much do you think Dana & the Frittata Bros. are making off the UFC? They risk a portion of their money and time. The fighters risk their bodies & long-term health, and spend long hours of blood and sweat before they even step in the cage.

I think he's worth more the 250K. If he's making 250K, and thats with a win bonus... thats fine I guess. But since he went out of his last contract on a win streak, Dana should up the cash. 350K to show, and 150K to win would be great IMO.

Dan doesn't have the personality to be a media champion for the UFC so he isn't going to make that kind of money regardless of his talent.

He had his chance at the light-heavyweight UFC belt and lost it, he had his chance at the middleweight belt and lost it. Since that second loss he hasn't done anything impressive enough (in my mind) to warrant a title shot.

Most of the ex-Pride guys seem to get burned out by the higher expectations of the UFC's business perspective.
