Pulver vs. Penn II - To Take Place In Late June or Early July

Quote:
BJ Penn was moments away from holding the Ultimate Fighting Championship Lightweight Title. He had champion Jens Pulver in a tight armbar near the fence. But Pulver held strong as time ran out in the second round. Beyond that, it was Pulver that held tough for three more rounds, scoring enough to win a majority decision in the eyes of the judges.

Penn, who is currently the #3 Welterweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, will be fighting at lightweight for the first time since 2003 when he takes on Pulver.

I guess this will finally put to rest some of the issues that people kept raising about whether or not Diego would fight BJ in the upcoming UFC fights.

"You can light a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day."
OR
"You can light a man on fire and he'll be warm for a lifetime."

My Top 6
BW = Miguel Torres
LW = Tyson Griffin
WW = GSP
MW = Gegard Mousasi
LHW = Lyota Machida
HW = Fedor

TUF should be a lot better with BJ as a coach... and they're fighting for free on Spike. BJ will avenge his defeat and then take the belt from Sherk. Ater that he'll move back up to 170, because by that time GSP will have destroyed all of the other top contenders leaving BJ as the last hope for a good PPV fight.

I wouldn't count on it. With all the New up-and-coming talent to the WW division..it's going to get messy (people fighting for position) and crowded.

Yea, we'll see, but there needs to be a Penn vs GSP 2 at least by 2008. I want to see if BJ can become The Avenger and avenge all of his losses one after the other until he is all alone at the top.

Penn vs. Pulver, how do you like it? I'll admit I'm not to excited about this fight as I wanted to see Penn fight Hughes or GSP... AGAIN. But, it's a free fight and I bet after I watch TUF 5, they'll have the fight so hyped up I'll be salivating for it. Don't let getting KO'd by a CAN fool you; Jens is a sick fighter. You know he'll be on another level preparing for a fight against BJ. But right now, I think BJ is in a higher class than Jens; Pulver was in his fighting prime when he took that split decision from Penn and I don't expect it to happen again. BJ by TKO.
