I don't think Shogun can really come with the same game plan he did in that fight and win because Lyoto trains with some of the best in the world and I find it hard ot believe that he won't evolve after that. I'm calling it another razor close decision though, with still more fans calling robbery, despite who wins.
Lyoto doesn't seem like the type of fighter to look past ANYONE. Shogun kicked the shit out of his legs and body while Lyoto was still backpeddling. <--- Sorry, just had to add that in.

Anyway, as much as I like Lyoto, I voted Shogun.

Lyoto will probably "win" the fight, but Shogun will win the fight.

Yes, I almost got it, it wasn't depicted quite boldly or big enough.

Fabulous. Thanks. I get it now. It was just too subtle before.

I chose Machida. He'll go back and realize that Shogun took advantage of certain flaws in Machida's game. Shogun, on the other hand, gave it his all and I doubt anyone can come up with a smarter game plan than that. It sucks for Shogun since he's going to have to go back and change up for next time--thing is that next time, the plan he goes with may not work.

As alot of fighters have said, they learned more from their loses than their wins. Machida has the good fortune of learning from this defeat, without acutally have a loss on his record.

Machida comes back a better fighter, and probably beats Shogun in the rematch. Don't think I won't be behind him though, supporting him to the bitter end. The only unfortunate thing is that THIS win was taken from him...

Favorite Fighters:

LHW - Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
MW - Anderson "Spider" Silva
WW - "The Prodigy" BJ Penn
LW - "The Prodigy" BJ Penn

I seriously won't write Shogun off this time. There's a big difference everyone has overlooked if this rematch happens.. Shogun will come in there confident and it'll be a huge one. Shogun didn't look confident till much later in the first fight it was devestating to watch what he did with that confidence.

I doubt the judges will give the fight to machida again.

If he wins the second fight it'll be because he earned it, not because it came with a bow.

Yeah. Sadly, I think the next fight WILL be the same with a decision as a results. Its sad when a title fight is so close and it is in the hands of the judges. It definitely wasn't domination by Shogun but I think the decision should have been 48-47 to Shogun.

how is that so ? shogun didn't do anything other then land a few kicks here and there but machida always counterd him with shots while shogun was going to kick for like 4/3 rounds. like i said before in other topic... my score for the fight was 50-45 machida. he was never in danger and rocked shogun in r2 or r3 in the flurry that almost ko him. if there is a rematch machida will do the same thing but maybe this time he will finish him with ko strikes and kicks. machida has his number but shogun is still a very good fighter and top 5 or 10 lhw... he can almost beat everyone expect for machida.
