I think this fight makes perfect sense for the number 1 contender match. As good as Cain has looked recently i don't think he will be that great against someone he doesn't want to take down. He has ok stand up and vicious ground pound / great wrestling where as Nog has good stand up and some of the best bjj in mma today. I think it would go three rounds and Nog wins via decision or he taps him out.

Your thoughts please........

After what I saw last night.. Caine did not impress me too much at all.. Excelent take downs.. but this is another fight where he kept teeing off on a guy and could not put him down.. all Big Ben had was a bloody nose.. I think the fight was stopped early.. I do think Caine would have won it regardless.. but Ben was barely phased

I thought that as well initially but looking at this gif I think it was a fair stoppage.

Rothwell sat there eating too many punches to the face before he attempted to stand up, he wasn't intelligently defending himself. And Mazzagatti was starting to move in before Rothwell started to stand up.

Well if Nog can use his superior wrestling he should be able to take it. But Cain off his back has some real slick Jitz.

Everyone knows Nog has a glass chin, but vicious muay thai. If he keeps it standing he should be able to land his trade mark head kicks. Cain is far too flashy, always attempting to pull guard and pull off flying knees and spin kicks and I see him getting caught.

Nog via KO.

I agree with people in the sense that if Carwin got a title shot than Cain should as well. But I'm not buying into the Cain hype 100% yet.
Undoubtedly he has impressive wrestling and ground and pound but he's getting fights where he really gets to show case that rather than test it.
Kongo and Rothwell are prone to takedowns and are not in the same league wrestling as Cain.
I'd like to see how well he does against a strong heavier wrestler who he can't potentially bully around, like Brock or Carwin or someone who likes fighting off of their back like Nogueira who can give him serious submission threat.
