Ok... I'm being a little hasty. Rashad vs Shogun holds some interest. All the other combinations don't turn me on at all.
Eh, I wouldnt mind seeing Thiago Silva and Shogun, Silva looked impressive against Jardine. Shogun would be a great test for "the new tito" as well. Im not interested in seeing Couture or Coleman fight Shogun though. I'd love Shogun to knock Vera out. It might make him think twice about being able to hold 2 titles at once.

You know what... I cant really disagree with any of that. ( maybe a little bit. )

Damn you and your sensible opinions. I have no retort. I hate it when discussion forums actually work properly.

ah sorry man, ill try to be more irrational next time haha

and back to the topic of Silva vs. Shogun, the biggest problem with that is the ufc wants a rematch with Lyoto and Shogun. But if Machida keeps the belt and Silva beats Shogun, then shogun has now lost 2 fights in a row and they cant justify him getting a title shot again.

I don't think in the eyes of the UFC that this first loss to Lyoto carries any real weight.

yeah but i think that if he loses he isnt exactly next in line anymore. people wont care just because they want this fight again but looking at it from a completely nonbiased standpoint, he shouldnt get a shot if he isnt winning fights. even if the losses were to machida and anderson silva.

This is why I feel this could cause trouble for the UFC. As it currently stands, Shogun looks like the only guy capable of beating Machida. If he loses the rematch then the UFC will have to find some filler fights, that'll probably go in favour of Machida and Shogun and the two will inevitably meet again.

I'm hoping another fighter or two can really step up and add to the party. I have a feeling Rashad will evolve well after the humiliation.

ill add to this... i really hope a 3rd party comes into the mix, but i cant see it being Rashad.... i think he is 2 fights away from title contention (t. silva who i dont think he will get by then any other top 5).

It's time to really start seeing what the kids at LHW can do, something like Bones Jones vs Bader (if/when bones gets by Hamill, i think he will) with winner thrown to top 5 wolves and get some fresh blood near the top of LHW

ditto and im tired of seeing guys with "perfect" records that have like 4+ fights in the UFC and still nobody of note on their record, so the ufc can hype up some guy that for all we know cant hang whatsoever near the top, i prefer to find out early, and i think a loss actually helps the young guys sometimes anyways, makes em really understand the dedication and sacrifice it really takes to be near the top of this game, and lets them decide early if they have that in them, jmo

u wanna build up your record and get experience?? thats fine, do it in the minors, lets start testing the undefeated kids sooner
