I predict something seriously exciting at LHW

A huge fight that can actually happen...

Anderson Silva vs Shogun Rua

O. MY. GOD.

Let me calm down a bit and I'll form an opinion!

Discuss.

it would be more interesting if Shogun had the belt tbh. If or when Shogun gets the belt the UFC would be dumb to not make this match up.

I dont care about the belt. The fact that Silva and Machida wont fight will always leave me asking what if. But, the rebirth of Shogun after those horrible injuries means there is now a third top draw LHW that Silva could face at some point instead. I've gone from thinking Silva has nobody to challenge him at MW & LHW to this mouth watering prospect.

i just think if Shogun winS the LHW belt and wins say 2 or 3 fights a Silva vs Shogun fight could be the biggest fight ever in MMA. While i would like to see that fight aswell with or without the belt i think it just add more value to the fight if Shogun has it.

Aside from any Fedor fantasy fight, I agree this could be the best muy thai battle we'll ever see, but unless shogun gets another couple of solid KOs under his belt, it might not have the needed hype. For the hardcore fan, yes, this will be one of the greatest fights ever.

now the question is, will the spider stick around long enough for this to get set-up? or will he "retire"? If he does hang it up and Shogun builds a similar win streak, i'm sure it'll bring Silva back for a one time battle...

i think this fight would be amazing. i think silva takes it though. he has been much more dominant than any other fighter in the ufc. but after what shogun did in the machida fight i will never count him out!

Certainly a matchup i'd like to see... but i don't think the UFC will throw all the Shogun chips into the pot like that. First i'd like to see either Shogun vs Rashad or Shogun vs Forrest II. They'll build up to that because it is just too big a risk to gamble both those big assets on one match.

for the record... Silva takes it.

I've been thinking this one over as well. I doubt Silva would fight him for the belt though unless the belt was out of Lyoto's reach at that point. I don't think Silva would want to be holding onto the LHW belt when his friend Lyoto is fighting in the same division.

I would pick Anderson to win but Shogun really showed what all that original hype for him was about the other night. I'm excited just to see what other fights Shogun has for him at LHW. Rashad, Forrest II, Rampage again if he comes back, Vera, Couture, Machida II, and Silva.

I dont see Rashad, Rampage or Forest getting anywhere near beating the Shogun we saw on Saturday.
